    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Cedar Rapids

    United Airlines flight UA-483 made an emergency landing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on November 26th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to Phoenix, Arizona, was diverted due to an engine issue.

    2 Injured After Small Plane Crashed in Olympic National Park, WA

    A small plane crashed in Olympic National Park, Washington, on April 2nd.

    The Cirrus SR22 plane was carrying 2 people when it went down near Brinnon.

    Both occupants of the plane were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, Seattle.

    The FAA and the NTSB will investigate.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Shannon Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-95 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on August 20th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane heading from Madrid, Spain, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted after an odor was noticed in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and seventy people aboard remained unharmed.

    Who: 4 on board, 1 fatality
    Why: After a hard landing, the plane struck a tree.

    The pilot was Doyle R. Chadwick.

    The passengers, all of whom survived, were Phillip Byrge, 49, and his 12-year-old son Nathan and 8-year-old daughter Mary.

    President of the Oliver Springs Airport board of directors,Steve Hamel, was quoted as saying that he believes “Wind and a wet runway likely played a role in the crash….It’s a grass runway, and it looks like the skid marks of extended distance here, that the brakes may have been locked up on the airplane”

    Delta Airlines Flight Hits Turbulence on the way to Seattle

    Delta Airlines flight DL-5763 suffered severe turbulence on the way to Seattle, Washington, on February 13th.

    The plane was flying from Santa Ana, California, when it hit turbulence which injured several people.

    The crew subsequently decided to divert to Reno, Nevada, where the plane landed safely.

    Eight people were injured, including seven passengers and a crew member.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Munich

    Lufthansa flight LH-1683 made an emergency landing in Munich, Germany, on October 27th.

    The Airbus A321-100 plane flying from Budapest, Hungary, was descending toward Munich when the crew declared an emergency due to an electrical odor on-board.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
