    What: Skywest Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Helena,MT to Salt Lake City,UT
    Where: Grand Junction,CO
    When: Feb 16th 2011
    Who: 32 passengers
    Why: On approach to Salt Lake City, the plane encountered turbulence. The pilot diverted to Grand Junction, where they landed an hour later. Three individuals were injured, and treated by paramedics.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    United Airlines flight UA-946 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on February 16th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Dulles International Airport, Virginia, was on approach to Amsterdam when the crew reported a flaps problem.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Missing Helicopter Crashed in Siberian Mountains. 7 Dead


    What: Mi-171 helicopter owned by the Russian state gas giant Gazprom
    Where: snow-covered mountain region of Siberia near Chornaya Mountain in the rugged Altai region.
    When: Friday Jan 9 2009
    Who: eleven passengers: Seven people were killed including Russia’s lower house of parliament rep Alexander Kosopkin; Four survivors were being treated in the city of Barnaul
    Why: The passengers had been on a hunting expedition. Under investigation is the possibility that poor quality fuel caused the helicopter’s engines to break down. Initial reports of eight dead were corrected to seven. No indication is made if crew is included in the passenger count.

    American Airlines Emergency Landing in Miami

    What: American Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Miami to Chicago
    Where: Miami
    When: Feb 16th 2012
    Why: After a normal takeoff, the flight was over Orlando when the plane developed bleed air problems.

    Pilots returned to Miami and made a safe landing.

    New York-Bound GoJet Plane Rejects Take-Off due to Blown Tire

    GoJetGoJet flight DL-6285 rejected take off from Greensboro, North Carolina, on October 20th.

    The Canadair CRJ-700 plane was accelerating to take off for LaGuardia Airport, New York, when a tire burst, prompting the crew to reject take off.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. All 73 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Injured Flight Attendent Delays Plane

    What: US Airways flight en route to Philadelphia
    Where: Columbus Ohio
    When: February 25 2011, 3:30 pm
    Who: not available
    Why: A flight attendant injured boarding was further injured when the flight encountered turbulence. The flight diverted to Port Columbus and made a safe landing where the fight attendant was seen by paramedics and transported to Grant Medical Center. US Airways has no base of operations in Port Columbus; and passengers endured a lengthy wait aboard the plane as USAirways searched for a replacement flight attendant. The flight resumed at 5:15 after a replacement attendant was found .
