    Ethiopian Boeing 737-8 MAX Crash in Bishoftu Ethiopia

    Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-8 MAX Flight ET-302 had just taken off from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia en route to Nairobi Kenya when radar contact was lost, and the plane crashed. 149 passengers and 8 crew were lost. The impact occurred near Bishoftu, Ethiopia 17 m SSE of Addis Ababa. Ethiopian Airlines announced that no survivors were found. People from 33 different countries were aboard.
    On Mar 10th 2019 Ethiopian Airlines reported that the crew reported difficulties and requested a return to Addis Ababa.

    BBC Africa reported aboard were 32 Kenyan, 18 Canadian, 9 Ethiopian,8 Chinese, 8 Italian, 8 American,7 French, 7 British, 6 Egyptian, 5 Dutch, 4 UN passports, 4 Indian, 3 Russian, 2 Moroccan, 2 Israeli, 1 Belgian, 1 Ugandan, 1 Yemeni, 1 Sudanese, 1 Togolese, 1 Mozambican, 1 Norwegian

    Vistara Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Kolkata

    Vistara flight UK-733 made an emergency landing in Kolkata, India, on February 25th.

    The plane was coming from Chennai, India, when the crew reported an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    TUIfly Receives First Next-Generation 737 With New Boeing Sky Interior

    SEATTLE, Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Hannover, Germany-based TUIfly last week celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first Next-Generation 737-800 with the all-new Boeing Sky Interior.

    TUIfly, which offers scheduled flights and charter services from cities in Germany to destinations in Europe and Northern Africa, has scheduled this airplane’s first passenger flight on Dec. 15 from Hannover, Germany, to Las Palmas on the Canary Islands.
    The 737 Boeing Sky Interior features new, modern-sculpted sidewalls and window reveals, larger stow bins and more headroom around the aisle seats. Other features include a quieter cabin, intuitive placement of switches and call buttons, improved sound quality and different interior lighting schemes. Boeing designed this series of enhancements to improve the overall travel experience for passengers, making the cabin more spacious and comfortable.

    UtAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Khanty-Mansiysk

    UtAir flight UT-456 made an emergency landing in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, on December 27th.

    The Boeing 737-500 plane heading from Noyabrsk to Moscow, Russia, was diverted due to indication of an issue with the air conditioning system.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    UPS Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Mumbai

    UPS flight 5X-15 made an emergency landing in Mumbai, India, on March 8th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane flying from Bangkok, Thailand, was descending toward Mumbai when the crew reported a hydraulic failure.

    The plane burst a tire during landing and became disabled on the runway.

    Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Via Airlines Flight Diverts to Pittsburgh due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Via Airlines flight VC-841 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 29th.

    The plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to Indianapolis, Indiana, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane, carrying Butler University’s Basketball Team, landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
