    SBA Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Dominican Republic

    SBA AirlinesSBA Airlines flight S3-1515 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Las Americas International Airport, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on March 11.

    The Boeing 757-200, heading from Caracas, Venezuela to Miami, Florida, was mid-air when the crew needed to shut down its right hand engine, causing the plane to divert.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 198 passengers and crew members aboard remained unhurt.

    Fiji Airlines Emergency Diversion to Auckland

    A Fiji Airways Boeing 737-700 was en route from Auckland to Suva when an engine developed issues.

    Pilots returned to Auckland International Airport where they made a safe landing with emergency services including fourteen fire engines on standby.

    After landing, the plane was escorted by half a dozen fire engines. No fire was found on the plane.

    Passengers were provided alternative transportation. None of the 122 passengers or six crew were injured.

    Jeju Air Plane Rejects Takeoff From Jeju City, South Korea

    Jeju Air flight 7C-510 had to reject takeoff from Jeju City, South Korea, on September 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Busan, South Korea, when the tower instructed the crew to stop.

    The crew subsequently rejected takeoff at high speed. Several tires deflated and the plane became disabled on the runway.

    All one hundred and fifty people aboard remained unharmed.

    Virgin Australia flight VA-474 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brisbane, Australia, on June 4th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Perth, Australia, but suffered a bird strike during departure.

    The crew subsequently landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Centurion Air Cargo Plane Drops Engine Cowl During Take off
