What: Mombasa Air Safari Let L-410UVP-EP en route from Ngerenge to Mombasa Where: Maasai Mara park, Kenya When: Aug 22nd 2012 Who: 11 passengers, four fatalities, seven injured Why: The Mombasa Air Safari passenger plane crashed on takeoff at the Ngerende Airstrip. Narok district police chief Peterson Maelo said a middle-aged German man, an elderly German woman and two Kenyan pilots died from their injuries and “Those injured have been flown to Nairobi for treatment.” The ambulance service was Flying Doctors Service.
Five German tourists, four Americans and two nationals from Czech Republic were aboard the flight.

A small plane crashed at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville, Florida, on November 17th.
The Lancair International Legacy plane was carrying two people when it went down.
The pilot, identified as Robert Carlisle Alberhasky, 68, of Cumming, was killed in the crash. His passenger Mark Lewis, 69, of Flowery Branch, was injured and was taken to a hospital.
The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

On Feb 26, 2013, a Sky Cruise Egyptian Airship Balloon, an Ultra Magic N-425 hot air balloon, was on a tourist flight and crashed. The balloon caught fire while being tied down. Original reports said there were eighteen fatalities, and two injured tourists. One of the injured tourists died at the hospital on the operating table.
The pilot and one tourist survived.
Three British, two French, one Hungarian, nine Hong Kong, one Egyptian and four Japanese tourists died when the balloon caught fire and fell into a field.
Two people, including the pilot jumped out before impact. The pilot, who jumped at about 33-49ft is being treated for burns.
Luxor has banned all balloon flight.
Sky Cruise said a gas cylinder exploded on board. Crews were anchoring the balloon when the ropes entangled with the gas system powering balloon, severed the connection, and the gas caught fire.
The British foreign office made this statement: We can confirm the tragic deaths of 2 British Nationals and 1 British resident following a hot air balloon crash in Luxor, Egypt earlier today. The next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them and their families at this difficult time. We are providing them with consular assistance. We can also confirm that one other British National was involved and is in a stable condition.
We have had consular officials in Luxor since early this morning who have been focussed on providing consular assistance and supporting the Egyptian authorities. Our Ambassador to Egypt has met the injured British National and has offered our assistance”.
What: Miles Flying Service AT80 AIR TRACTOR AT-802A Where: Paragould Arkansas When: May 23, 2012, 11:35 a.m Who: 1 severe injury, 1 fatality Why: Two agricultural planes, a Beech Grove Grumman G164C and a Miles Flying Service AIR TRACTOR AT-802A collided in midair during an aerial application (crop-dusting) activity. The planes flew from Craighead and Greene county airstrips. One plane was flying S-N, the other was flying E-W. The planes turned into one another at the field’s corner and they impacted ground separated by 300 yards near County Road 322 and Highway 168 in Greene County.
One person on the Gurmman was fatally injured; one person on the Air tractor had serious injuries. The accident occurred sixteen miles from Paragould arkansas. A medical helicopter evacuated the injured pilot.

What: Piper PA-34-200T Seneca II Where: Nr. 12th Street and 34th Avenue Sun Villas, Vero Beach Florida When: Mar 5 2010 Who: pilot and student pilot Why: While on a Paris Air training flight, the flight crashed near a canal and within 50 feet of homes. Both the pilot and student pilot were seriously injured and trapped inside the plane. The extrication took 90 minutes, after which one was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, and the other was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
The plane’s owner is a New York surgeon who leases the piper to Paris Aviation.
The passengers were in communication with the rescue team during the rescue, but were in serious condition on transport.
