    Where: near the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, Hudson River, Kingston New York
    When: Feb 26 2011 1:30 p.m.
    Who: pilot Michael Faraldi
    Why: The BAC 167 Strikemaster ex-military jet did a very low pass over the runway before crashing into the frozen Hudson River on approach to Kingston-Ulster Airport at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday near the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. The body of 38-year-old Michael Faraldi was recovered 3 p.m. Sunday. Faraldi whose day job was podiatry was a general aviation pilot on his first transition into a high performance jet-fighter category aircraft.

    Small Plane Crashes into Lake in Louisiana; 2 Missing

    A small Cessna crashed into Lake Pontchartrain near the New Orleans Lakefront Airport, New Orleans, Louisiana, on the night of August 27th.

    There were three people onboard out of whom a woman was rescued and taken to hospital.

    Two missing persons are still being searched for.

    4 Young People Die in Field in Mexico

    What: Piper PA-28-140 Cherokee
    Where: Jesus Ernesto Lozano Airport Chihuahua Mexico
    When: Sept 29, 2011
    Who: 4 aboard, 4 fatalities
    Why: Four people were killed in a plane that crashed in Valle de Allende. The passengers were found beside the plane. The front of the plane was gone.

    Valles Alejandro Medrano, 23, student
    Jasmine Meza Gabriela Nuñez, 20, student
    Marcos Moreno Angel Carrillo, 23, farmer
    Gabriel Edgar Campos Abes, 24 pilot

    They were from Jimenez, and two were students of Centro Cultural Universitario.

    They crashed on land belonging to Capitán Ernesto Lozano, who heard the crash, and arrived in time to find two dead passengers, and two dying.

    The cause of the accident is unknown. Investigators were called about the crash at 10:15 Sept 29, 2011

    Cessna Lands in Canadian Marsh

    What: Cessna 337 en route from Fort McMurray to Buffalo Narrows, Sask.
    Where: Fort McMurray
    When: June 28, 2012 3:45 pm
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: When the Cessna they were in developed engine trouble, the pilots made an emergency landing in a marsh south of Fort McMurray. No injuries were reported.

    Canada’s TSB is investigating.

  • Pilot Bails out of SkyCatcher

    What: Two seater training Cessna SkyCatcher Model 162 scheduled to begin selling for flight training and personal use in 2009. This plane had been on 100 flights with more than 150 hours of flight time.

    When: eleven o’clock Thursday morning
    Who: test pilot
    Why: The test pilot bailed out of the plane wearing a parachute

    What: AZ Aeromachine 1946 Twin Navion twin engine en route from Anoka County-Blaine Airport
    Where: Cardinal Creek Conservation Area, Eden Prarie
    When: 12:30 p.m Oct 5, 2009
    Who: pilot Bob Fiske
    Why: When the plane crashed, witnesses rushed to break the windshield and rescue the trapped pilot.

    The pilot was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
