    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

    American Airlines flight AA-2098 had to return and make an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February 10th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane took off for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards due to reports of smoke and haze in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    French Pilot Crashes in Vienne

    What: Skyranger
    Where: Vienne France
    When: Oct 23, 2012 3:00 pm
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: The pilot of a SkyRanger failed to return from a 2 hour flight, triggering a Sater Bravo land-air rescue.

    A search went on till 2:00 a.m. The next day his remains were discovered near an electrical cable in a wooded area, ten miles east of the airport. The plane was severely damaged.

    Brazil Cessna Crash

    What: Cessna 310R en route from Leopoldina to Pampulha
    Where: Serra do Curral, Minas Gerais Brazil
    When: Feb 26 2010
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: After takeoff, the plane crashed in conditions of fog and low visibility. The mountainous crash site was 5 meters below the top of Serra do Curral mountain range. The plane apparently blew up on impacting a “wall” of mountain.

    A local fire department helicopter spotted the wreckage.

    The victims were identified as Tanus Sales and Rafael Tanus Pascoal Sales. Rafael was the pilot.

    Small Plane Crashed in Orleans County, New York

    A small plane crashed in a wooded area in Gaines, Orleans County, New York, on August 23rd.

    The plane had just taken off from Gaines Valley Aviation Airport when it experienced a mechanical problem and went down.

    The pilot, Earl Luce Jr., 64, of Brockport, was the only one aboard. He remained uninjured.

    Another Antonov Crashes in Siberia

    What: Sayanian Cedar Antonov 2 en route fron Petropavlovka to Toora-Kem
    Where: Tuva, Russia
    When: August 22, 2011
    Who: 9 aboard, 1 fatality
    Why: The Antonov 2 owned by a logging company made a hard landing in the Todzhi district of Tuva. The plane was on the way to Toora-Kem when it ended up on the island near the Choigan-Hol Lake.

    Passengers were reported to be fishermen en route to fishing sites. One passenger was killed in the crash. A Mi-8 chopper with a 3-person rescue crew was sent to the area.

    The injured were transported to area hospitals.

    Child Goes into Cardiac Arrest Midair; JetBlue Flight Lands in Emergency

    jetBlueJetBlue flight 1786 had to make an emergency landing at Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts at around 5:30 p.m. on November 6.

    The flight was on its way from Pittsburgh to Boston when the pilot informed the authorities that a 2-year-old child was in cardiac arrest.

    The aircraft landed safely and the child was immediately taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. The authorities said that he was unconscious at the time but did have a pulse.

    Massachusetts State Police Trooper John Morris, who was one of the first to reach at the scene, said, “There was a doctor on board the flight and he responded and he performed medical attention to the child that was very helpful with his survival.”
