    What: Royal Air Maroc Boeing 737-400 en route from Amsterdam to Nador
    Where: Amsterdam
    When: Jun 6th 2010
    Who: 156 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: On takeoff, the plane encountered a flock of geese, which resulted in an engine fire, damage to the left engine fan blade and denting the inlet. The engine was shut down, fire suppression engaged, and the crew returned to the airport where they made a safe landing. Passengers disembarked on the runway after less than a twenty minute flight.

    United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Newark

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 936 had to made an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, on August 16.

    The flight, heading from Washington Dulles International Airport to Zurich, Switzerland, was diverted as a precaution after 4 crew members reported breathing problems.

    The plane landed safely and was thoroughly inspected. Authorities said the sick flight attendants did not need medical attention after landing.

    The passengers were accommodated in other flights.

    Flybondi Plane makes Tail Strike in Argentina

    Flybondi flight FO-5450 made a hard landing on Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, Argentina, on July 15th.

    The Boeing 737-800 flying from Las Heras, Argentina, had a tail strike while landing on the runway.

    The plane sustained minor damage.

    No injuries were reported.

    Emergency Landing in Gainesville

    What: US Airways/ PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Gainesville,FL to Charlotte,NC
    Where: Gainesville
    When: Jan 24th 2011
    Why: While en route, the flight developed engine trouble.

    The flight returned to Gainesville and made a safe landing within half an hour.

    Singapore Airlines Plane Returns to Narita International Airport

    Singapore airlinesSingapore Airlines flight SQ-12 had to return and make an emergency landing at Narita International Airport, Japan, on September 15.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane was turned back after the crew had to shut down one of the engines due to vibrations. The flight was en-route to Los Angeles, California at the time.

    The plane landed uneventfully

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Four Injured in Aviation Fire in Papua, Pilot Fatality

    What: Associated Mission Aviation Pacific Aerospace 750XL en route from Jayapura to Okbibab.
    Where: Abmisibil Airport, Okbibab, Papua
    When: Dec 17, 2011
    Who: 5 aboard, 2 fatalities
    Why: The plane landed at Abmisibil Airport, and skidded into a ravine at the end of the runway.

    Pilot Arnold Burung did not survive. The injured, Jacob Uropmabin, Timothy Uropmabin, Ramli, and Rady (AKA Yakob Uropmabin,Timotius Uropmabin, Ramly and Radi) were hospitalized at Dian Harapan Hospital in Jayapura.

    Pacific Aerospace manufactures planes in New Zealand.
