    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Chattanooga

    American Airlines flight AA-5359 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on August 28th.

    The plane heading from Jackson, Mississippi, to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Virginia, was diverted due to a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Piper Hard Landing Skids Off Vegas Runway


    A Managed Aviation Inc Piper PA-60-602P Aerostar made a hard landing at North Las Vegas Airport, skidded off the runway and caught on fire. The pilot and passenger managed to exit the plane. It appears to be a training flight.

    At 4:20, fire crews were trying to put out the fire.

    The condition of the two aboard has not been reported.

    Republic Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Bradley International Airport

    Republic airlinesRepublic Airlines flight 3880 had to make an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport in Hartford County, Connecticut, on April 2.

    The plane, heading from Newark, New Jersey, to Burlington, Vermont, had to be diverted after the pilot reported engine problems.

    The plane landed uneventfully and all 71 passengers and 4 crew members remained unhurt.

    The aircraft was taken for inspection while the airline arranged alternate transport for passengers.

    Embraer Emergency Landing in Palm Springs

    What: Sky West Flight 6552 Embraer en route from Palm Springs International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport
    Where: Palm Springs International Airport
    When: 5:46 p.m
    Who: 14 people on board
    Why: After the crew detected smoke in the cockpit right after takeoff, the Sky West flight was able to land safely.

    CA: Cessna Crash

    What: Cessna T210N
    Where: 3 miles south of Dana Point, California
    When: November 19, 2005
    Who: Pilot and 3 passengers
    Why: The airplane impacted the ocean following a departure from controlled cruise flight, decelerating from 120 to 60 knots spiraling down corkscrew manner before impact. No pre-accident anomalies were noted with any systems examined, and no distress calls or communications preceded or followed the upset. The pilot had moderate to severe coronary artery disease with evidence of at least one prior small heart attack. The combination of coronary artery disease and LVH would have substantially increased the risk for sudden cardiac death in this pilot. Four died in the crash.

    Small Plane Crashed at Capitol Airport; WI

    A small plane crashed while taking off from Capitol Airport in Brookfield, Wisconsin, on January 4th.

    The plane went down when the pilot, his wife, and their infant son were traveling to Virginia.

    The pilot and his wife were injured in the crash. They were taken to Froedtert Hospital.

    The baby remained unharmed but was also taken to Children’s Hospital as a precaution.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.
