What: American Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Santiago Chile to Miami, Florida

When: Nov 10th 2010
Who: 120 passengers and 12 crew
Why: Shortly after takeoff, the plane experienced a hydraulic failure in the landing gear. The pilot returned to Santiago and made a safe landing. The flight was rescheduled.

What: US Airways Boeing 767-200 en route from Charlotte to Philadelphia
Where: Charlotte,NC
When: Jul 23rd 2010
Who: 196 passengers
Why: Passengers had boarded the hot plane, disembarked and reboarded. Finally, after takeoff, a quarter hour into the flight, cabin temperatures had risen to over 110 degrees F. The plane returned to Charlotte and landed safely. Several passengers were hospitalized with heat issues.
No doubt there will be fines.
A replacement jet was provided.
Garuda flight GA-258 made a hard landing at Adisutjipto International Airport, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on February 1st.
The Boeing 737-800 flying from Jakarta, Indonesia, veered off the runway upon landing and stopped with all gears.
The aircraft was damaged.
No injuries were reported.

What: Qantas Airbus 330 en route from Sydney to Shanghai
Where: Sydney
When: ebruary 18, 2010
Who: 197 passengers
Why: After takeoff, the Qantas Airbus landing gear failed to retract, leading it to circle for 2 hours burning off fuel until it was light enough to land. Passengers were provided an alternative Airbus.

What: Continental Airlines / Express Jet Embraer en route from Houston to Omaha
Where: Eppley Airfield
When: 2:40 p.m. Thursday
Who: 3 crew 49 passengers
Why: While descending to land, the plane’s automatic pressurization system failed . Oxygen masks were released for passengers. The emergency pressurization system was activated manually. Passengers did feel the pressure. One woman was treated for bleeding from the ears.

What: TAAG Angola Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Portela airport to Luanda Angola
Where: Over Lisbon
When: Dec 6 2010 12:30
Who: 125 aboard
Why: Around 11:45 GMT, a Taag Boeing lost parts over the Almada suburb of Lisbon, damaging a car and a building’s roof. The plane made an emergency landing at Portela after experiencing engine vibration in the right engine.
Stramded passengers have a replacement flight due at 10 am.
Taag bought the plane in 2007. TAAG’s Boeing aircraft are exempt from TAAG’s blacklist status. TAAG is on the UE blacklist of foreign airlines banned from flying to the continent due to noncompliance with international safety guidelines.
Ukraine International Airlines flight PS-775 had to return and make an emergency landing in Kiev, Ukraine, on March 1st.
The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for Tel Aviv, Israel, but had to return shortly afterwards after its right hand windshield cracked midair.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
