Drunk Delta Pilot Heads to UK Court

Who: 213 passengers plus pilot George LaPerle
Why: Scotland Yard took Delta pilot George LaPerle from his plane.

He was so drunk…(how drunk was he? Five times the pilots legal limit, that’s how drunk.) He was so drunk, he thought his Detroit flight was bound for New York. With him at the controls, he wouldn’t have gotten out of Heathrow much less across the Atlantic.

LaPerle is suspended by Delta and will be going to court in the UK on Nov 16. Let’s hope for his sake he shows up sober, and already on his ten step plan.

    British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at London City Airport

    British Airways flight BA-4454 had to make an emergency landing at London City Airport, England, on February 17th.

    The plane flying from Rotterdam, Netherlands, was descending toward London City Airport when the crew reported smell of smoke on-board and declared an emergency.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Chicago

    United Airlines flight UA-959 made an emergency landing in Chicago, Illinois, on June 23rd.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane flying from Heathrow Airport, England, was on final approach to O’Hare International Airport when the crew reported a gear problem and went around.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Emergency landing At Sumburgh, Scotland

    On July 31, 2013, an Eastern Airways Saab 2000 was en route when pilots observed a warning light on the flight panel. The flight had to divert to Sumburgh Airport in Shetland, Scotland. Thirty oil workers were aboard. THere were thirty-two passengers and three crew.

    Shetland’s air, sea and land rescue services responded to the scene, including auxiliary coastguard teams from Lerwick, Noness and Sumburgh. Emergency services were on standby on landing.

    Pilots sent a 5.10pm. Mayday and made a safe landing.

    None of the 35 aboard suffered injury. The fault was in the warning system.

    Malaysia Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Jambi

    Malaysia Airlines flight MH-724 made an emergency landing in Jambi, Indonesia, on February 25th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted due to a low fuel indication.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Orlando

    DeltaDelta Airlines flight 1332 had to make an emergency landing at Orlando International Airport, Florida, at around 7:47 a.m. on October 9.

    The Boeing 757 was on its way from Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers to Atlanta when it lost hydraulic pressure on the left side.

    The plane landed uneventfully and everyone aboard remained safe.

    The passengers were shifted to another aircraft.
