Mesa Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Louisville
Mesa Airlines flight YV-6073 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 18th.The Embraer ERJ-175 plane heading from Toronto, Canada, to Houston, Texas, was diverted due to indication of a hydraulic failure.
All four main tires burst as the plane landed in Louisville. All 77 people aboard remained unharmed.
Royal Jordanian Airlines Plane Veers Off Runway in Iraq
Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJ-800 veered off runway at Sulaimaniyah International Airport, Iraq, on March 4th.The incident happened when the Embraer ERJ-175 plane was coming from Amman, Jordan.
There were 30 people aboard at the time; the airline confirmed that none of them were injured.

Why: After a female caller phoned in from Boston that a passenger aboard Jetblue flight B6-923 was possibly carrying a bomb, the flight diverted to Buffalo. After maintaining a holding plan over the airport, the flight landed safely after 8 a m. THe jet was taken to an isolated area of the airport and all the passengers were assisted off. Officers and canine patrol made a sweep of the plane, luggage and passengers and nothing was found. The incident shut down the airport until 8:30 am.The FBI said there was no threat and that the entire incident was a domestic dispute. The NTSB made this statement:
“JetBlue flight 923 (BOS-ORD) diverted to Buffalo Niagara International Airport at the request of the flight crew because of a telephonic bomb threat. The plane landed safely at 8:25 a.m. and has since been cleared of any possible threats. A passenger is being interviewed by law enforcement authorities.”

Associated Jet Crash in Nigeria
On Oct 3, 2013, a twenty-three year old Associated Aviation Embraer EMB-120 was en route from Lagos to Akure to carry the deceased regional governor and family to his funeral in Akure.
The Embraer developed engine trouble on take-off. (The failed engine was a Pratt & Whitney.) The plane struck a wooded area, a wall and came to rest on fire, avoiding a residential area. The flight data recorder has been recovered.
The number of people aboard has not been determined. Some sources say the flight had 20 passengers plus a crew of seven; some sources say only twenty were aboard in all. Fifteen victims lost their lives initially, and one died in the hospital.
The four survivors were hospitalized.
