Why: The Pulsar Aircraft Super Cruiser plane climbed to an altitude of about 500 feet and crashed about 500 meters from the landing strip south of the airport. Fatalities included Yaron Degani, a 56-year-old Israeli businessman who manufactured small planes, and two businessmen—Lee Yen, 49, and Yu Wen Kao, 42— in Salvador on business on behalf of a Chinese aircraft company from Wuxi.

Brazilian presidential candidate Eduardo Campos, 49, has been confirmed dead after his campaign plane, a Cessna 560XL, plunged into a residential neighbourhood in the port city of Santos, Brazil, on August 13.According to the authorities, the 12-seater plane could not land in Guaruja due to bad weather after which, the air traffic control lost contact with it. Turkish Military Helicopter Crashed in Kocaeli; 4 Killed
A Turkish military helicopter crashed in a mountainous area of Kartepe district, Kocaeli province, Turkey, on October 12.The Konya-bound S-70B Sikorsky aircraft took off from the Cengiz Topel Military Airport, Izmir at 12:18 p.m. and lost connection with the air traffic control at 12:25 p.m.
Search and rescue teams were then sent in the area, which spotted the wreckage in a forested region.
There were 4 people aboard the helicopter at the time of crash; all of them were killed. Their bodies were shifted to Gölcük Military Hospital.
Cessna Lands On Ice
What: 1972 Cessna 150L registered to a flight school in Wheeling, en route from the Chicago Executive Airport
Where: on the ice of Grays Lake near Route 120 and Lake Street, Lake County, IL
When: early Tuesday evening 4:30 p.m. Feb 17 2009
Who: pilot and one passenger were aboard. Neither was injured.
Why: The plane was experiencing engine problems and the pilot determined he would not make it to land at nearby Campbell Airport. Rescue crews left the pilot waiting for a mechanic.The plane belongs to Flight Center at Service Aviation, Inc. of Wheeling.
Rumor is it got up to 40 degrees Tuesday so let’s hope the pilot got that Cessna off the ice before it melted–

Why: After a touch and go near Klein Kedingshagen, the sport plane crashed and both aboard died on the scene. Aboard was the 41 year old flight instructor and his 47 year old (beginning) student from Stralsund on Rügen aus Sellin Island. The instructor had been teaching in that plane for three years. This was the student’s third maneuver.Witnesses say the vehicle lurched and fell out of the sky. Four forensic scientists traveled to the scene.
Evektor-Aerotechnik is a manufacturer located in Kunovice, Czech Republic.

TAM Flight 3054 was a regular flight from Porto Alegre, Brazil, to São Paulo-Congonhas, Brazil.

NTSB sending Team to Peru Crash Investigation

WASHINGTON – The National Transportation Safety Board is sending a team of investigators to Pucallpa, Peru, to assist the Government of Peru with its investigation of yesterday’s crash involving a Boeing helicopter. According to the U.S. Department of State, the accident claimed the lives of five American citizens.On Monday afternoon, in Pucallpa, Peru, a Boeing-Vertol 234 helicopter, operated by the U.S. operator Columbia Helicopters, crashed shortly after takeoff. The helicopter had departed from FAP Captain David Abenzur Rengifo International Airport, Pullcapa, Peru enroute to Tarapoto, Peru. It has been reported that all seven persons aboard the aircraft sustained fatal injuries.
The NTSB has designated senior air safety investigator, Paul Cox, as the U.S. Accredited Representative. He will be accompanied by two NTSB investigators with expertise in helicopter systems and operations, a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration, and a representative from Columbia Helicopters. The team is expected to arrive in Peru tonight.
