    A Bird-Struck Light Aircraft Flips Over During Crash Landing in Swansea

    A local farmer in Grovesend, Swansea was forced to make emergency landing at his own airstrip, after his plane hit a flock of birds.images

    According to the South Wales Police, the light plane registration G-BKCX, owned and flown by the farmer flipped over during crash landing on Sunday, March 17, 2014. He managed to escape with minor injuries including a mild concussion. He was later given medical aid at the Morriston Hospital, Swansea.

    Two fire trucks, West and Mid Wales Fire and Rescue Services responded to the scene.

    Icelandair Flight Makes Emergency Landing at East Midlands Airport

    Icelandair flight FI-746 made an emergency landing at East Midlands Airport, England, on September 20th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane flying from Keflavik, Iceland, was descending toward East Midlands Airport when the crew noticed an issue with the flaps and entered a hold.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Jet2 Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport

    Jet2Jet2 flight LS-518 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on January 1st.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane, en-route from Tenerife to Newcastle, England, was diverted after the crew reported that a disruptive and intoxicated female passenger was causing trouble.

    The plane landed safely and all 161 passengers and six crew members remained unhurt.

    The 42-year-old woman passenger was arrested while the plane resumed its journey after a short delay.

    Eastern Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Aberdeen Airport

    Eastern AirwaysEastern Airways flight EZE502 made an emergency landing at Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland, on January 23.

    The Saab 2000 aircraft was flying from Scatsta Airport, Shetland, when the crew reported an unusual smell in the cockpit and requested emergency landing.

    Emergency personnel were ready at the scene when the plane safely touched the runway. An airline spokesperson said, “There were no passengers on board and the aircraft with three crew landed safely at 10am today. On arrival, the aircraft taxied to its parking stand…We have launched an investigation and engineers are inspecting the aircraft.”

    Irish Prime Minister’s Plane Makes Precautionary Landing in Dublin

    A plane, carrying Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny, made a precautionary landing at Baldonnel Aerodrome in Dublin, Ireland, on the afternoon of June 22.

    Prime Minister Enda Kenny was travelling to Brussels, Belgium from Ireland West Airport Knock, when a warning light came on in the cockpit and the pilot decided to make a precautionary landing.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    Everyone aboard remained unhurt and the flight continued to Brussels after resolving the issue.

    British Airways Flight Returns to Heathrow Airport due to Electrical Odor

    British Airways flight BA-123 had to return and make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom, on February 12th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Doha, Qatar, but had to turn back after the crew reported an electrical odor onboard.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
