What: TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A330-200 en route from Sao Paulo Brazil to Buenos Aires Argentina

Why: After takeoff, the plane experienced hydraulics failure. The crew decided to return to the airport. The Airbus landed safely, although it had to be towed from runway 09L.
An air ambulance plane made an emergency landing at Trabzon Airport, Turkey, on March 14th.
The plane took off for Germany but had to turn back due to a technical issue.
The airport was closed before the plane landed safely.
The air ambulance was transporting a British patient from Doha, Qatar.
PAL Airlines flight PB-1922 made an emergency landing in Stephenville, Canada, on November 15th.
The plane heading from Churchill Falls to Deer Lake, Canada, was diverted due to indication of an unsafe nose gear.
The plane landed with the nose gear up. All forty-seven passengers and four crew members remained unharmed.
An Allegiant Air flight had to make an emergency landing at Central Nebraska Regional Airport, Grand Island, Nebraska, at around 3:30 p.m. on October 20.

What: US Airways Airbus A320-200 en route from Philadelphia to Los Angeles
Where: Pittsburgh
When: Dec 15th 2009
Who: 135 passengers, 5 crew
Why: While en route less than an hour into the flight, the plane developed an undesignated problem with a flight computer. The crew diverted to Pittsburgh.
A replacement airbus was provided.
An air ambulance had to make an emergency landing at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Uttar Pradesh, India, on February 17.
The incident happened when the plane was transporting a suspected swine flu patient, Antoinette Joy, from Sonbhadra district to Delhi. Authorities said the decision for emergency landing was made after the patient’s condition worsened.
The plane landed safely and the patient was immediately transferred to a local private hospital.
Authorities said the plane was chartered by the patient’s husband Malcolm Single. The couple hails from Australia and works for a multinational company in Sonbhadra district.
SA Airlink flight SA-8675 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 7th.
The plane, en-route from Pretoria to Cape Town, South Africa, had to be diverted after one of the engines stopped working mid-air.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
