On January 17, 2019 at 15:59 minutes local time, Sky Service Chopper Eurocopter EC-130T2 crashed in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the grounds of a sanatorium. The pilot Valentin Shitov survived the impact but did not make it to the hospital. The ferry flight took off from Boralday but did not arrive at its destination Big Almaty Lake.

Where: 2.3 km S of Libreville Airport, Gabon

Who: 2 crew 2 passengers
Why: The flight had permission to land when it began experiencing a hydraulic problem, and was flying with difficulty when it crashed into the sea near Libreville Airport. (Although reported as a hydraulics issue, both propellors had stopped according to witnesses, so it may have been a fuel issue. )One passenger from Gabon and one Bulgarian passenger were on board. The two member crew was Ukranian.
The flight ditched in shallow water and the plane is still visible above the water line.
Gabon has banned Antonov 26 flights in its airspace until further notice

Who: Pilot and passenger
Why: While conducting bushfire surveillance while fighting a fire, the helicopter went down in the rainforest. The passenger, a 41-year-old National Parks and Wildlife Service ranger died. He had been a ranger for 12 years.In Dorrigo Hospital, the pilot is fighting for his life, after sustaining critical chest, head and back injuries. He will be airlifted to a major hospital later on Wednesday
The pilot has over 3000 flying hours. This is the third serious firefighting helicopter incident in the past 48 hours.
1,500 firefighters continue to fight the fire caused by dry conditions and lightning strikes. Unrelated to the helicopter crash, other individuals have been injured in the fire.
