    Small Plane Crashed in Wisconsin; 2 Killed

    A Zenith CH601XL plane crashed in a grassy area in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, on July 25.

    Winnebago County authorities contacted Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office on July 26, about a missing plane that was heading to the Experimental Aircraft Association convention in Oshkosh and was around 20 hours overdue.

    Wisconsin Civil Air Patrol and the deputies began searching for the plane and found the wreckage in a grassy area.

    Both occupants of the plane were found dead.

    The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.

    Beechcraft Lost in Kentucky

    What: Island Trading Ltd. Hawker Beechcraft 58 en route from from Frederick, Maryland to Olive Branch MS
    Where: Leslie County
    When: April 27 2010
    Who: pilot and passenger
    Why: While en route, the plane lost contact, and is believed to have wrecked in eastern Kentucky, in a remote, mountainous area of Leslie County. It is believed the wreckage was located at 5:30 pm, with no survivors.

    Small Plane Crashes in New Jersey; Pilot Killed

    A small plane crashed in a marshy area of Bass River State Forest, New Jersey, on the afternoon of November 20th.

    According to sources, the aircraft was flying from Maryland to the Ocean County Airport.

    William Lindley, 75, who was the only person aboard, lost his life in the crash.

    The incident remains under investigation.

    Cessna Crashes near Puerto Rico

    What: Cessna 206, chartered by Tropical Aviation Corp., was traveling from the Casa de Campo International Airport in the Dominican Republic to San Juan
    Where: crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the north coast of Puerto Rico, in what is being called “a debris field off the northwestern city of Quebradillas,”
    When: around nightfall Sunday Feb 8
    Who: carrying six people; missing pilot and all five passengers are U.S. citizens
    Why: Witnesses reported seeing an explosion on the plane before it crashed. They are still hoping to find survivors.

    Iowa Plane Crash Kills US Senate Candidate

    PiperA single-engine Piper PA-46 aircraft crashed near Dubuque Regional Airport, Iowa, on October 13.

    Dr. Doug Butzier, a Libertarian candidate running for the U.S. Senate seat in Iowa, was killed in the crash. He was contending against the Democratic candidate Bruce Braley.

    According to FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford, the plane crashed at around 11 p.m. while it was approaching the runway to make a landing. He also confirmed that the plane departed from Ankeny Regional Airport around an hour earlier.

    Butzier was the only one aboard the aircraft when it crashed.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    Final Flight: Jim’s Big Sky Kauai At Rest

    When: Feb 15 2011, 11:41 am
    Who: 2 aboard, 2 fatalities
    Why: A kayaker witnessed a Big Sky Kauai ultralight 200 yards off Glass Beach when it fell to the ocean and sank with the pilot James Gaither and passenger Kim Buergel, 49, of Spokane, Washington.

    The ultralight is based out of Port Allen Airport in Hanapepe. Rescue services with a boat, jet skis and the county’s new helicopter, Air-1 searched for five hours for survivors in overcast weather and murky water, and found only debris.
