When: Dec 6th 2011
Why: On approach to Weipa, the plane flew through a cloud and encountered disruptive turbulence.
While there were no reports of injury, the turbulence resulted in engine problems. The plane made a safe landing but the incident is under ATSB scrutiny.

Why: After takeoff, one of the pilots had an attack of appendicitis.
The flight returned to Concepcion and was cancelled. Passengers were booked on a later flight.

What: Qantas Boeing 747-400 en route from Johannesburg South Africa to Sydney
Where: Johannesburg
When: Jul 15th 2011
Why: While en route, the plane developed engine problems with engine 3. Passengers reported hearing a bang before the captain announced returning to Johannesburg.
The pilot dumped fuel and returned to Johannesburg, where he made a safe landing. A replacement flight was provided, delaying the flight by a day.
On board was the SA Springbok Rugby team.

Why: On approach to Flesland Airport, the crew got an unsafe gear indication. Landing was aborted, until the problem was determined to be an indicator issue; at which time, the final pass was made, when it landed safely.

Why: While en route at an altitude of 36000 feet, the plane developed a crack in the right windshield and diverted to Bahrain. They made a safe landing at 9:43 pm. Passengers are expecting at least a 24 hour delay.

Why: While en route, the pilot experienced problems with the left engine and had an indicator light indicating further problems. After declaring an emergency situation, the pilot idled the left engine, and landed safely in Winnipeg a little over half an hour after declaring an emergency.

Why: While en route, the plane developed pressurization problems that caused passengers significant distress, including ear pain.
Pilots returned the plane to Tallinn where it made a safe landing and the pressurization problems were worked on by maintenance crews.
