United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Newark
United Airlines flight 936 had to made an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, on August 16.
The flight, heading from Washington Dulles International Airport to Zurich, Switzerland, was diverted as a precaution after 4 crew members reported breathing problems.
The plane landed safely and was thoroughly inspected. Authorities said the sick flight attendants did not need medical attention after landing.
The passengers were accommodated in other flights.
Pilot Lands After Copilot Suffers Emergency

On January 22, 2013, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 from Seattle to McCarran was en route when the co-pilot fainted. The pilot requested priority landing. The plane landed in McCarran ten minutes early at about 5:26 p.m.. None of the 146 passengers were injured.
Alaskan Airlines said that while on board, the co-pilot was checked by a doctor on the flight, and that the co-pilot’s medical records were up to date. He was hospitalized on landing. A news program reported the plane landing on auto-pilot but an Alaskan Airlines official made assurances that the pilot landed the plane.
Nigerian Woman Gives Birth aboard British Airways London-Bound Flight
A London-bound British Airways flight had to divert and make an emergency landing in Spain, after a 31 year old passenger went into labor.
The flight originated from Nigeria, and was on its way to Heathrow Airport in London when a Nigerian passenger gave birth in the plane’s business class, at an altitude of 36,000 feet. The pilot then diverted the plane to Palme de Mallorce, the capital of Spanish autonomous community, Balearic Islands. The mother and baby boy were rushed to Son Espases hospital.
Ujunwa Eneh Ozeh, hailing from Nigerian capital city Abuja, was 26 weeks pregnant and was accompanied by her 1 year old daughter, Nnedinma.
Ozeh and her newly born child, named Michael, are in stable condition. According to hospital authorities, the mother will be discharged on Monday, however, Michael will be kept in the intensive care unit till his original due date in August.
British Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Heathrow Airport
British Airways flight BA48 made an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport in London, United Kingdom, on February 22nd.
It is believed that the pilot requested priority landing after a passenger became unwell. The plane was flying from Seattle, Washington, at the time.
The medical teams were ready at the scene as the plane landed safely.
