Delta Airlines flight DL-472 made a safe emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on September 20.
The Boeing 767-300 flying from Sao Paulo Guarulhos, Brazil, was about to reach when the crew declared an emergency due to hydraulic failure.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.

What: Qantas Boeing 747-400 en route from Johannesburg South Africa to Sydney

When: Jul 15th 2011
Why: While en route, the plane developed engine problems with engine 3. Passengers reported hearing a bang before the captain announced returning to Johannesburg.
The pilot dumped fuel and returned to Johannesburg, where he made a safe landing. A replacement flight was provided, delaying the flight by a day.
On board was the SA Springbok Rugby team.
All Nippon Airways flight NH-204 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Krasnojarsk, Russia, on January 1st.
The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Frankfurt, Germany, to Tokyo, Japan, was diverted due to an engine failure.
The plane landed safely. All 147 people aboard remained unharmed.
PAWA Dominicana Airlines flight 7N-750 had to return and make an emergency landing in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 9th.
The plane took off for Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, but had to return shortly afterwards due to failure of left engine.
The plane landed safely. There were 112 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Why: After takeoff, the flight experienced a hydraulics failure. The pilot returned the plane to the airport and made a safe landing.
An Air India flight had to make an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Azerbaijan, on July 10th.
The plane was flying on London-Mumbai route when a technical issue prompted the crew to divert for an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. There were 206 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
What: American Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Miami to Washington
Where: Charleston SC
When: August 9, 2011
Who: 152 passengers, six injuries
Why: After encountering turbulence over Florida, the pilots diverted to Charleston. Two flight attendants and one passenger were injured by turbulence, plus several others were hospitalized.
Diversion delayed the flight as mechanics examined the problems aboard the plane.
