    The Airbus A319-100, en-route to Charlotte, North Carolina, had to return due to high oil temperature, forcing the crew to shut one of its engines down mid-air.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 111 people aboard remained safe.

    Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Delta County Airport

    A small plane made an emergency landing at Delta County Airport in Michigan, on November 3.

    Authorities said the single-engine experimental Kitfox plane had to perform an emergency landing due to gearbox failure that stopped propeller movement.

    The plane landed on the north side of the ramp and ended up into a ditch between taxiway and runway.

    The pilot remained uninjured.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    Four Killed as Small Plane Crashes Near Russellville Regional Airport

    mexicocrash2A small plane crashed near Van Horne Road on Crow Mountain, Pope County, Arkansas, on October 29.

    The single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza plane was attempting to take off from Russellville Regional Airport when it went down.

    There were four people aboard at the time; all of them were killed. They were identified as the pilot Phillip Cowger and three siblings Wesley Harris, Julie Lefevre, and Robert Harris.

    It is believed that the passengers were heading to Knoxville to attend a funeral.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    The Embraer ERJ-170, flying from Philadelphia, to Jacksonville, had to make an emergency landing due to smoke in cockpit.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 69 people aboard remained safe.

    Fort Lauderdale : Leaking Plane Afire on Runway

    An engine of Dynamic International Airways flight 405 caught fire as the plane was about to take off for Caracas.

    The Boeing 767 was taxiing for departure at 12:45 p.m. when the pilot of the plane behind them saw the fuel leak from an engine. The tower call said, “Engine on fire.” Passengers evacuated on to the tarmac via slides. There were 101 aboard. Twenty-one were injured, and taken to local hospitals. One person sustained a serious burn. One fel on the tarmac.

    A replacement flight is planned. The incident is under investigation by the FAA, Boeing, NTSB and the airline. Passengers were provided a later flight but there is no indication of how many took it.

    Southwest Airlines Jet Rejects Take Off after Bird Strike

    The Ontario-bound Boeing 737-300 plane was accelerating for take off when its right hand engine ingested a bird, prompting the crew to reject take off at a high speed.

    The plane safely returned to the apron.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Cessna Makes Emergency Landing on Key Biscayne Golf Course

    A Cessna 150 aircraft made an emergency landing on a golf course in Key Biscayne, Florida, on October 26.

    The plane was en-route from Miami-Opa-locka Executive Airport to Miami Executive Airport when the pilot noticed an engine problem and decided to make an emergency landing at Crandon Golf course.

    The plane struck some palm trees while landing and sustained damage to one of its wings.

    The pilot and his only passenger remained uninjured.

    The aircraft is owned by a company in Wilmington, Delaware.

    Pilot Killed as Small Plane Crashes near Worcester Regional Airport

    A small plane crashed into the woods near Worcester Regional Airport in Worcester, Massachusetts, on October 24.

    The single-engine 1996 Mooney M20M plane was attempting to take-off from the airport when it veered right and crashed into trees just beyond the runway.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as Dr.Gary Weller, 66, of Putnam, Connecticut.

    The accident is being investigated.

    The plane was preparing to land at the airport when the pilot reported engine failure and decided to land on the motorway.

    The plane landed on its belly. The pilot, identified as Jon M. Brinkerhoff, 30, of Boise, remained uninjured.

    According to the owner of Boise-based charter business SP Aircraft, Andy Patrick, the plane was transporting cargo from Seattle, Washington.
