An Allegiant Airlines flight en-route to Peoria, Illinois had to make an emergency landing at McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas, on May 26.
McCarran International Airport officials confirmed that the emergency landing was made after an indicator light signalling a problem with the nose gear got activated during the flight.
The plane landed safely just after 4 p.m.
The plane was later examined by the maintenance crews but no problems were found.
Kenya Airways flight KQ-112 had to return and make an emergency landing in Nairobi, Kenya, on December 28th.
The Boeing 787-800 plane took off for Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, but had to return shortly afterwards due to loss of cabin pressure.
The passenger oxygen masks were deployed as the plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
New Consumer protection ruling from the US Court of Appeals now requires the ticket total must be displayed in the largest type size and be the most prominent price in an ad or Web page, that airlines allow consumers who purchase tickets more than a week in advance to cancel reservations without penalty within 24 hours after purchase, and airlines are banned from increasing the price of tickets or baggage fees after tickets have been bought.
The 2011 rules say that the price shown in an ad must be “the entire price to be paid by the customer.”
The case had been brought by Allegiant Travel Co (ALGT.O), Southwest Airlines Co (LUV.N) and Spirit Airlines Inc (SAVE.O), and was supported by the industry’s trade association.
Consumers have been unable to comparison shop ticket prices since 2008, when airlines began charging fees for services that previously had been included.
The industry’s trade association does want consumers to know that taxes and government fees make up about 20 percent of a ticket’s total price.

Why: While en route, the plane developed a fuel leak and diverted to Hamburg Germany.
After landing, maintenance determined that there was no fuel leak, just a faulty fuel gauge.
Passengers were supplied with alternative transportation.
Avianca flight AV-9 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Havana, Cuba, on January 9th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Miami, Florida, to Bogota, Colombia, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.
A small single-seater aircraft made a crash landing in the ocean just off a beach located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, on September 24.
The pilot, Greg Harding, 59, who is a former Alaska bush pilot, reported that he had to make crash landing because the plane ran out of fuel. He said that he was on its way to Dillingham Airport, when “the engine just quit.”
According to Harding, he first thought of landing on the beach but there were about a dozen people on the shore.
The Piper PA-25-260 plane landed safely in around 5 ft of water. Harding remained uninjured.
The aircraft belongs to North Shore Aircraft Leasing Co. The company’s owner Ana “Suzy” Gromacki admired Harding’s skills and noted that he was not likely to survive of the plane had overturned.
The FAA is investigating.
