    AA Flight Diverts to Waterloo Due to Maintenance Issues

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA3425 had to make an emergency landing at the Waterloo Regional Airport in Ontario, Canada, on January 31.

    The plane was en-route from Des Moines International Airport, Iowa, to Chicago, Illinois, when the crew reported maintenance issues.

    The plane was then diverted to Waterloo where it made a safe emergency landing. All 49 passengers aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged an alternate aircraft for the passengers.

    The flight was being operated by Envoy Air.

    Germanwings Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Berlin

    Germanwings flight 4U-8061 made an emergency landing in Berlin, Germany, on January 26th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane flying from Nuremberg, Germany, was on approach to Berlin when the crew reported an issue with flaps and aborted approach.

    The plane landed uneventfully on second approach. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    ExpressJetExpressJet flight EV-4121/UA-4121 had to make an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Nova Scotia, Canada, on January 19.

    The Embraer ERJ-145, en-route from Newark, New Jersey, had to be landed in emergency due to flaps failure.

    The plane landed safely.

    Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Bird-Struck Nok Air Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Thailand

    NOK AIrNok Air flight DD7805 had to make an emergency landing at Surat Thani airport in Thailand, on August 30.

    The plane took off from Nakhon Si Thammarat and was heading to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport when a large bird hit it, prompting the pilot to request an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. All 200 passengers and crew members remained unhurt.

    Ramp Agent Fell Asleep in Cargo Hold of LA-Bound Alaska Airlines Plane

    Alaska AirlinesAlaska Airlines flight 448 was forced to return and make an emergency landing in Seattle, Washington, on April 13.

    The plane took off for Los Angeles but had to return immediately after the pilot reported unusual banging noise.

    The plane landed back uneventfully. All 170 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

    The airline said a ramp agent was found inside the front cargo hold of the aircraft. The agent said he had fallen asleep.

    The ramp agent was taken to hospital as a precaution while the aircraft resumed the flight.

    Norwegian Air Shuttle Flight Diverts to Porto Santo Island

    Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-1784 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Porto Santo Airport, Portugal, on December 9th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Oslo, Norway, to Funchal, Portugal, was diverted after the crew noticed a flaps problem.

    The plane landed safely. All eighty-four people aboard remained unharmed.
