    Gulf Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Peshawar, Pakistan

    Gulf Air flight GF-784 made an emergency landing in Peshawar, Pakistan, on April 4th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane flying from Bahrain was on approach to Peshawar when the crew reported an issue with the brakes.

    The plane landed safely and was towed to the apron. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    EasyJet Plane Diverts to Newcastle due to Fumes in Cabin

    EasyjetEasyJet flight U2-6931 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Newcastle, United Kingdom, on November 28th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Edinburgh, United Kingdom, to Hamburg, Germany, was diverted after the crew reported fumes in the cabin.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were 161 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Where: Toronto
    When: Jan 10th 2010
    Who: not available
    Why: After takeoff, the Airbus thrust reverser malfunctioned and the crew had to return to the airport. They made a safe landing half an hour later, and passengers disembarked, eventually boarding another plane.

  • GE’s 1000th Dowty Propeller System Makes First Flight on C-130J


    Cincinnati, Ohio– GE Aviation joins Lockheed Martin today to mark the 1000th Dowty advanced propeller system on a C-130J aircraft. The first flight took place December 20 at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia. The C-130J will be delivered to Dyess Air Force Base by year’s end.

    Performing the C-130J’s flight were Lockheed Martin test pilots Dick Shroeder and P R Helm.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Phoenix

    American Airlines flight AA-692 had to return and make an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 27th.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Honolulu, Hawaii, but had to turn back due to a mechanical issue.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and seventy passengers and ten crew members remained unharmed.
