    Alitalia Jet Diverts to Naples International Airport due to Violent Hailstorm

    AlitaliaAlitalia flight AZ2016 made an emergency landing at Naples International Airport in Italy, on August 19th.

    According to the airline, “Alitalia flight AZ2016 from Rome to Milan Linate, scheduled on 8.00 am this morning, went through an extraordinary and violent hailstorm soon after taking off from Fiumicino airport… Therefore, the pilots decided to head to Naples airport.”

    The plane landed safely and all 110 passengers remained uninjured.

    The aircraft sustained serious damage due to the storm.

    The airline accommodated the passengers in other flights.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight Delayed due to Passenger’s Crash Dream

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesA Jeddah-bound Saudi Arabian Airlines flight was delayed after a passenger created panic in the plane at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 2.

    The plane was about to take off when a passenger, believed to be a Saudi national, stood up and claimed that he had a dream about the plane getting crashed.

    The authorities evacuated all passengers from the aircraft and searched it thoroughly while the Police took the man in custody.

    An airline official confirmed that the plane was able to take off after security clearance.

    4 Killed as Small Plane Crashed in Chatsworth, Georgia

    A small plane crashed on Piney Hill Road in Chatsworth, Georgia, on July 1st.

    The incident happened when the twin-engine Piper PA-23 plane was carrying four people.

    Authorities said all four occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Small Homebuilt Plane Crashed West of Lolo Pass, Pilot Killed

    LancairA homebuilt single engine Lancair Legacy small plane crashed near Blacklead Mountain, about eight miles west of Lolo Pass, in the mountainous area of Clearwater National Forest, Idaho, on July 28.

    The incident happened when the pilot Milton Meyer, 72, was flying from his home in Richland, Washington, to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association Convention in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

    A helicopter from Two Bear Air in Flathead County located the wreckage of the plane and the pilot’s dead body, at around 11:30 a.m.

    Clearwater County Idaho Sheriff authorities said the pilot radioed being in trouble to Helena Regional Airport around mid-morning. He reported having mechanical problems in the plane and oil on his windshield. The pilot said he might not be able to land in Helena, as planned.

    The FAA and the NTSB are looking into the cause of accident.

    Helicopter Tragedy in the Amazon

    On January 7, 2013, Chinook helicopter (registration N241CH) Pucallpa-Tarapoto was en route near the Laguna Yarinacocha in Pucallpa Peru when it came down in the Amazon.

    The helicopter took off at took off at 2:57 pm, taking a load to Tarapoto.

    According to reports, although the crew tossed the load while airborne, the plane broke up in mid air and caught fire. There were seven people aboard.

    There were 2 Peruvians aboard: Joel Castillo and Luis Ramos.

    Five Americans: Dan Immel , Ed Córdova, Jaime Pickett, Lee Bradford and Darrel Birkes.

    Those aboard were employed by Petrominerales Ltd, a Canadian-based oil exploration firm.
