Who: 5 on board, 2 fatalities
Why: Crashed close to the kilometer 27 of the Perote-Los Humeros road. Pilot Daniel Cabrera Ruiz and Aviation Mechanic Irineo González Jerónimo were killed. The three survivors were taken to Jalapa and Perote, in Veracruz. The crash is under investigation by Aviation authorities and the Armada de Mexico.

Why: A pilot, a skydiving instructor and three parachutists went up for a parachuting lesson. The plane they were in crashed right after takeoff. Those aboard the flight were Nemanja Goronja, Alen Crnalic, Stefan Karanovic, Nikola Stevic and Srdan Kosic.Witnesses attempted to use fire extinguishers, but apparently a number of them failed to operate correctly.
Among the five victims was an eighteen year old parachutist who was aboard for his first jump. The tragic wreck occurred in front of horrified onlookers there to witness the skydiving. Firefighters, ambulance crews, and Gojko Vasic, the RS Police Director Nedeljko Lubura from Banja Luka PSC were on the scene. The parachutists were members of the Club Banjaluka.
The accident is under investigation.

Why: One of a detachment of four Spanish Navy Agusta-Bell 212ASW helicopters assigned to the Spanish navy amphibious ship Castilla crashed in a sparsely populated remote
rugged location called Mount Toro. The helicopter, which is part of an independent detachment is said not to be part of the 400+ Spanish soldiers engaged in Haiti’s recovery and reconstruction efforts, reportedly struck trees and slammed into the ground before catching fire. The rugged terrain is reportedly hampering recovery. Small Plane Crashes near Tipton Airport; 2 Injured
A Grumman American AA-1 aircraft crashed in woods around half mile west of Tipton Airport near Fort Meade, Maryland, on February 8.The incident happened shortly after the plane took off from Tipton Airport, with 2 people aboard.
Authorities said both occupants of the plane were extricated from the wreckage and shifted to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. They were identified as Thomas Cline, 82, of Silver Spring and Jeff Barnett, 57, of Glen Burnie.
The FAA and the NTSB is investigating.
HAL Crashes without Pilots, 2nd Time is the Charm
What: Hindustan Aeronautic Ltd HAL HJT-36 Sitara Intermediate Jet Trainer
Where: Near Hosur, Krishnagiri about 50 miles SE of Bangalore

Who: 2 pilots
Why: The Hindustan Aeronautic Ltd (HAL) trainer crashed Thursday near Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The pilots pilots Wg Cdr. Patra and Mathur ejected and survived, although they had several injuries.Since 1968, the HAL jets have been used to replace the Kiran trainers. This particular jet had crashed before (at Aero India in February 2007) and had been repaired and returned to service.
This is the “prototype” which careened off the runway when its canopy opened just as the plane was getting airborne at the Aero India 2007 exposition.
It is no wonder that in India, aviation is having problems. Between a a questionable supply of pilots with legitimate licenses, problems with air traffic control, and now recycled planes which may not be providing top protection to those who have to ride in them. Fortunately for these two pilots, the ejector seat worked and they survived the crash, albeit somewhat the worse for wear. The incident is under investigation.
