    JetBlue Flight Rejects Takeoff from Las Vegas

    JetBlue flight B6-178 had to reject takeoff from Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 7th.

    The Airbus A321-200 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Boston, Massachusetts, when the crew rejected takeoff due to an engine fire.

    Emergency services quickly suppressed the smoke coming out of the engine.

    The plane safely returned to the gate.

    Alaska Airlines Flight Diverts to Spokane due to Medical Emergency

    An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Spokane, Washington, on September 21st.

    The plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to Seattle, Washington, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was rushed to a hospital.

    NZ Chopper Smashed While Setting up Christmas Tree

    Who: 1 pilot
    Why: After setting a pylon for a christmas tree, the chopper’s roter struck a cable, and crashed the chopper.

    Pilot Greg Gribble was hospitalized and released.

    Te Wero Bridge has been closed to pedestrians until the investigation is complete.

    Kansas State University’s Training Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing

    A Kansas State University helicopter made an emergency landing near Saline-McPherson County line, on Thursday.

    According to the Kansas State Troopers, the pilot made emergency landing due to a mechanical fault in the helicopter. The two-seater training helicopter was landed safely, in a wheat field and the pilot remained uninjured.

    The helicopter is being repaired on-site, after which it will be flown to the KSU’s aviation facility in Salina.

    Fixed-Wing Airplane Crashed While Conducting Cloud Seeding in Philippines

    A Baron fixed-wing airplane crashed while conducting cloud seeding on Sunday afternoon at a corn field in Villa Coloma, Bagabag town in Nueva Vizcaya province of Philippines.

    Chief of Bagabag police, Chief Inspector Chevalier Iringan confirmed that the RP C1974 plane took off from Cauayan City airport, Isabela province and crashed over the Magat River watershed at about 2:45pm.

    All four people including the pilot; Philip Jubane and three passengers; Christopher Evan Borja, Leilanie Naga and Melvin Simangan, died at the spot. The victims were employees of the Bureau of Soils and Water Management.

    The plane was on its fourth and last cloud seeding operation commissioned by SN Aboitiz Power-Magat Inc.

    Where: 1.6 km N. of Jean-Lesage Int. Airport near Quebec
    When: June 23, 2010
    Who: 5 passengers, 2 crew, 7 fatalities
    Why: After takeoff, the pilot complained of a problem in his right engine. The pilot attempted to return to the airport, but the plane crashed into a residential neighborhood and exploded.
