SkyWest Airlines flight OO-4594 made an emergency landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 8th.
The plane took off for Minneapolis, Minnesota, but had to return shortly afterwards due to an issue with the right hand engine.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Japan Airlines flight JL-646 ran into severe turbulence while heading to Tokyo, Japan, on November 10th.
The Boeing 767-300 plane was flying from Kagoshima, Japan, when it encountered turbulence that injured a flight attendant.
The plane continued for safe landing.
Japan’s TSB confirmed that the flight attendant sustained a serious injury due to turbulence.
Flydubai flight FZ-821 made an emergency landing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on February 10th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Jazan, Saudi Arabia, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
A cargo plane plowed into a residential area in Mbuji-Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo, on December 24.
Authorities said the Airbus 310 plane, operated by the cargo company Services Air, overshot the runway due to rainy weather and near-zero visibility before hitting several houses.
At least seven people on the ground were killed in the accident. The plane was carrying four crew members at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
The accident is being investigated.

Why: After takeoff, the left engine made several explosive noises, and the plane vibrated. The crew turned the plane around and landed safely at Orly. Passengers were rebooked, provided accommodations and further delayed by snow.
WestJet flight WS-3161 made an emergency landing in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, on March 20th.
The plane was coming from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, when the crew declared an emergency due to smoke in the cockpit and cabin.
The plane landed safely. All fifty-six passengers and four crew members remained unharmed.
Mesa Airlines flight AA-5906, flying on behalf of American Airlines, had to return and make an emergency landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Arizona, on August 24th.
The Canadair CRJ-900 flying to Burbank, California, had to return due to problems with cabin pressurisation.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
