Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-758 made a safe landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, Pakistan, on December 4.
The Boeing 777-200, en-route from Heathrow Airport, London, to Lahore, was approaching Lahore’s runway when it hit a bird.
The plane landed safely.
All passengers aboard remained unhurt.
British Airways flight BA-2607 had to return and make an emergency landing at Naples International Airport, Naples, Italy, on March 31.
The Airbus A320-200, en-route to London, England, was climbing out of Naples when a chemical smell was sensed onboard, prompting the plane to return. The airline reported that there was a technical issue.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All passengers and crew members onboard remained unharmed.
JetBlue flight 429 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Sioux Falls Regional Airport, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on August 11th.
The aircraft carrying 151 people from Massachusetts to Sacramento, California, was mid-air when it encountered severe turbulence, prompting the plane to divert.
The plane landed uneventfully.
At least 20 passengers sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to hospital.

Well, I’d settle for my two front teeth. But at Boeing, they’re still hoping the 787 Dreamliner is going to actually fly before 2010. They’ve gone back to the drawing board a couple of times, (back in June was the 5th delay, so I’ve lost count.) Delays like when they reinforced the wing and fuselage so it didn’t fall off. And all the testing with the composite material which is hopefully a good idea. It remains to be seen. Literally.
In Jaipur at 9:30 on January 5, 2013, after having to divert due to visibility issues, an Imphal-Delhi Air India flight was out of fuel and made an emergency landing in Jaipur damaging a wing and suffering a flat tire. The video says the wing damage was due to a tree-strike after the tire burst.
The Gauhati to Delhi flight diverted Jaipur due to dense fog but in Jaipur too, the pilot landed in fog and low visibility. 168 passengers and 5 crew were aboard. We have heard no reports of injuries on the Airbus A320-231 #VT-ESH but the damage looks pretty bad, if the twitter post is of the correct incident. (That’s the correct # as far as we can tell.) A Pakistan Air Force plane crashed during a routine training flight near Karachi, Pakistan, late on November 21.
According to PAF spokesperson Air Commodore Tariq Mehmood, “Squadron leader Tanveer Ahmed embraced martyrdom when a Miraj aircraft crashed near Gadap Town around 30 nautical miles from Karachi.”
Witnesses reported that the plane caught fire before it went down.
The cause of crash is under investigation.
United Airlines Flight 38 made an emergency landing at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Ohio, on April 28th.
The plane took off from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and was heading to Omaha, Nebraska, when it developed an engine problem, prompting the crew to declare an emergency.
The plane landed safely. There were 114 passengers and 5 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
