    Emergency Landing in Albuquerque


    On Jan 11, 2013, Flight 1868, an American Airlines MD-80 en route from Las Vegas to Dallas was in the air when a problem developed in a plane generator. There were 150 passengers and 5 crew.

    The Captain told passengers that the backup generator failed, so they had to divert to Albuquerque International where they made a safe landing at 8:30 a.m.

    No injuries were reported.

    Passengers were informed the plane was going to maintenance and they were placed on alternative flights to Dallas.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Alaska

    A small plane crashed near the town of Butte in Alaska, on October 29th.

    Authorities said the Cessna 172 plane crashed into a Knik River gravel bar.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. He was identified as 25-year-old Ray Justen.

    According to Alaska National Transportation Safety Board chief Clint Johnson, “Witnesses said this airplane came in, made a touch-and-go on a gravel bar and during a fairly steep climb out there was an aerodynamic stall…The airplane descended nose-first and struck the gravel bar.”

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Phoenix

    American Airlines flight AA-692 made an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 21st.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane took off for Honolulu, Hawaii, but had to turn back due to an EGT issue.

    The plane landed back safely. All one hundred and eighty-five passengers and six crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Flight 757 Made Emergency Landing at Tulsa

    Birds ingested in one of the engines of the American Airlines flight 757, forced it to make emergency landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

    The incident happened while the plane was taking off from Tulsa.  The pilot immediately returned the plane back for check-up.

    These kind of incidents are quiet common in Tulsa, The airplanes usually get hit by birds and sometimes by skunks and other mammals. Alexis Higgins of FAA says that they are seeking help from biologists to remove these birds from the airport.

    AA Flight Diverts to Lubbock due to Mechanical Issue

    american airlinesAmerican Airlines flight 295 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Lubbock, Texas, on December 23.

    According to the airline, the plane, heading from Miami, Florida, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted due to a “mechanical issue.”

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 186 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement aircraft for the passengers.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Denver

    American Airlines flight AA-2615 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on July 20th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, to Belgrade, Montana, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
