A Boeing 737 jet on final approach to LAX at 7:05 p.m. reported a green laser. The location was tracked down, and a 14-year-old boy was arrested after pointed a powerful laser from his backyard.

On CBS, Sully Sullenberger said that we may be making air planes “too complicated” for pilots to react quickly when “things go awry.”
Sully admitted that in his famous landing on the hudson, all his speed sensors still worked. The pilots of the Air France flight were operating under massive disadvantages, flying at night, at the top of a storm,very turbulent, losing all speed reference (one of the most critical parameters of flying an airplane), leaving the pilots only the pitch and thrust settings to maintain flight.
On May 31, 2013, a Transpac Aviation Academy Piper out of Deer Valley airport, and a Westwind School of Aeronautics Cessma were fifteen miles from the Deer Valley Airport when they collided.
Two people were aboard each flight, and there were no survivors.
The Cessna caught fire after impact.
Passengers names have not been released.

What: Global Air Boeing 737-200 en route from from Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta
Where: Puerto Vallarta
When: Nov 4th 2010 1 p.m.
Who: 99 passengers and 5 crew
Why: While on approach to Puerto Vallarta, the plane’s nose gear would not extend, in spite of several flybys where the tower verified the nose gear was not extended.
The plane eventually made a belly landing on foam with emergency services on standby. Pilot Jorge Luz Campos landed the plane with no injuries.
A British Airways Airbus A319-100 was en route from London to Oslo when it developed an engine problem.
Passengers heard a loud explosion, and saw smoke from the right engine. Apparently the engine doors blew off.
During takeoff, the casing of the left engine ‘came away’ and the right engine exploded when the plane made a quick return, landing in London.
Good thing that Emergency services were on standby to extinguish the engine fire.
Passengers and crew made an emergency evacuation via emergency slides.
None of the 5 crew and 75 passengers were injured.

A LATAM Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing in Santiago, Chile, on November 10th.
The plane took off for Punta Arenas, Chile, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bomb threat. It is believed that a female passenger had informed the crew that there was a bomb onboard.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained safe.
The woman was arrested while the authorities searched the plane.
