Why: While en route, weather (fog) developed in Delhi, and the flight diverted to Patna where it made a safe landing. There were no injuries. However the passengers were upset, as they pressured for information about when they would be able to continue to Delhi.

Allegiant Air Flight Diverts to St. Petersburg Due to Bad Weather
Allegiant Air flight 977 had to make an emergency landing at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in St. Petersburg, Florida, at 7:53 p.m. on July 3.The MD-83 aircraft, en-route to Putna Gorda in Florida, from Asheville, North Carolina, had to divert because of bad weather conditions.
According to Allegiant, the pilot had to declare emergency before landing when an “indicator light” indicated a “maintenance issue” in the plane.
The plane, carrying 146 passengers and 6 crew members, landed uneventfully.
The passengers were adjusted in a replacement flight.
The issue is being investigated.
United Airlines Plane Diverts to Detroit due to Disruptive Passenger
United Airlines flight 3461 had to make an emergency landing at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, Michigan, on January 7.The plane heading from LaGuardia Airport, New York, to O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, had to be diverted due to an unruly passenger. It is believed that a woman asked to be let off the plane mid-air and when the crew members told her it was not possible, she became aggressive and attacked the passengers and crew.
The woman was restrained using scarves, belts, seat belts when the plane, carrying 69 passengers and 4 crew, landed in Detroit.
She was taken into custody by the FBI. The plane resumed its journey after a short delay.
The flight was being operated by Shuttle America.
Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to Illinois due to Engine Failure
Southwest Airlines flight WN-1914 had to divert and make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Illinois, on June 12th.The Boeing 737-700 flying from Chicago, Illinois, to Connecticut, had to divert due to engine failure.
The plane landed safely.
All one hundred thirty-nine passengers remained safe.

Why: After takeoff from Sao Paulo, the flight suffered an bird strike, which disabled it. The vibrating engine had to be shut down. Pilots returned to Sao Paulo a quarter of an hour after leaving.Passengers were provided alternative transport.
American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Argentina
American Airlines flight AA-996 had to return and make an emergency landing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 29th.The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards due to issues with the cabin pressure.
The plane landed back safely and was towed to the apron.
All passengers and crew members remained safe.
