Qantas flight QF-2179 suffered a bat strike near Coffs Harbour Airport, Australia, on November 24th.
The plane flying from Port Macquarie, Australia, was on final approach to Coffs Harbour Airport when a bat hit it.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Swiss International Airlines flight LX-2200 made an emergency landing in Geneva, Switzerland, on December 21st.
The plane took off for Marrakesh, Morocco, but had to turn back due to an engine problem.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Trans States Airlines flight UA-4629 had to reject take off from Fargo, North Dakota, on January 9th.
The Embraer ERJ-145 plane was accelerating to take off for Denver, Colorado, when two right hand tires blew, forcing the crew to reject take off.
The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained safe.
What: Tarco Airlines Antonov AN-24 en route from Nyala to Zalingei

Who: 44 passengers and 6 crew
Why: A plane on a peacekeeping mission landed, apparently with an explosion on the side of the plane; two tires burst and caught fire. The fire resulted in from 6 to 15 fatalities, 6 injured. Rported numbers on casualties vary greatly. It is also reported that only 11 survived and that only 6 were killed. CNN did not mention a peacekeeping mission, but said the passengers were returning for a holy day with their families at the end of Ramadan.
So in conclusion-we can just say that something happened, but we’re not exactly sure what, at least not until official reports come out.
Austrian Airlines flight OS-535 made an emergency landing in Vienna, Austria, on November 5th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Bologna, Italy, but had to turn back due to issues with the cabin pressure.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
Norwegian Air Shuttle flight DY-7042 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on January 24th.
The Boeing 787-800 plane heading from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Copenhagen, Denmark, was diverted after the captain fell ill.
