Why: Akizuru hit offshore power lines and crashed into the sea. The five member crew was missing; but the remains of 4 were found by searchers. One is still missing.

Helicopter Crash in Schoemanskloof Kills Lion Sands Game Resort CEO

A privately owned Robinson R-44 with four aboard crashed in the vicinity of Schoemanskloof outside Nelspruit in South Africa. The flight had taken off from Johannesburg and was en route to White river when it crashed in heavy mist. No one aboard survived. The fatalities were listed as Nick More, Pierre de Villiers, Lance Cooper and Elmarie Martens.Remains of the victims will be handled at the state mortuary in Pretoria.
The South African Civil Aviation Authority will be investigating the crash site, Zondagskraal farm, four kilometers from the N4 highway.
Pilot Mr Nick More, owned the helicopter and was CEO of Lion Sands Game Resort.
Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport indicated that the flight plan listed that More departed from Nelspruit Airfield at 06:30, collected passengers at Casterbridge. The destination was listed as Grand Central Airport in Gauteng.
Small Plane Crashed in the Bahamas; Two Killed
A small plane crashed at South Bimini Airport in the Bahamas, on June 19th.
The Piper Aztec 27 plane, carrying two people, went down minutes after it took off from the airport.
Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.
The accident is being investigated.
Spanish Tourists Die on Tourist Flight
On May 24, 2013, a privately owned Cessna 172 had just taken off from Son Bonet de Marratxi airfield, failed to gain altitude and crashed in a field.
There were three passengers from Spain aboard–22 and 26 year old men and a 36 year old woman–and the pilot; only the 22 year old Argentinean pilot survived. The pilot was badly injured.
The plane normally offered tourists flights around the Balearic Islands.
The accident is under investigation
Four Dead in Swiss Helicopter Group Crash in Alps
On July 1, 2013 at 9: 45, a Swiss Helicopter Group Eurocopter AS 350B3 Ecureuil with four people aboard crashed in the Swiss Alps near Kröntenhütte, Uri.
The pilot, two flight assistants and a technician were killed. The victims were between 25 and 60 years old and the helicopter was one year old.
The helicopter had started off at 7 in Erstfeld, flew to Andermatt, then to Leutschachhütte. The pilot was dropping off someone in Kröntenhütte but instead crashed in a cloud of smoke.
Police, fire and the air rescue service responded. Currently, there is no explanation for the crash.
An investigation of Swiss Helicopter Group is now underway.

Vintage Crash in Chandler

Pictured: North American P-51D Mustang; N514NH / 4484850/FF-850 (cn 124-44706) Former Apollo astronaut Frank Borman own this Mustang in the ’90s. Borman registered it as N15FS in August 1995 and named it Su Su. In it’s history this aircarft has carried the registrations N151TH, N850AH, N151BF, N151FS. Now it belongs to Hirani Oil in Chandler Arizona.

Why: On an attempt to land, the World War II-era plane appeared to be coming in to land too fast, hit a brick retaining wall, then flipped into the hanger, setting it afire and killing the pilot.* Although the Mustang was built by North American Aviation, it is the precursor of the Piper.
Small Plane Crash in Scotland Kills 2
A Piper PA-28 plane crashed near Loch Etive in Argyll region of Scotland, on April 4.
Authorities said the plane crashed after it lost contact in Glen Kinglass’ Beinn nan Lus area, at around 1:50 p.m. It is believed that the accident happened when the aircraft was heading from east Scotland to Hebrides Island, Tiree.
Two people were killed in the crash. Their bodies were recovered along with the wreckage.
The cause of crash is under investigation.
