What: Calm Air International Saab 340B en route from Churchill to Arviat

Why: After takeoff, the left engine made a loud noise and overheated. The crew shut down the affected engine, and returned the plane to Churchill where they made a safe landing.
Delta Airlines flight DL-82 had to divert and make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on January 25th.
The Boeing 767-400 plane heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, was diverted after the crew reported a hydraulic failure.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
EasyJet flight U2-7021 had to return and make an emergency landing in Liverpool, England, on July 13th.
The Airbus A319-100 plane took off for Jersey, Channel Islands, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

What: Thomas Cook Boeing 757 en route from Glasgow to Heraklion

Why: The flight was en route over Holland when one of the planes engines developed engine failure. The pilot shut down engine two and diverted to Frankfort, where they made a safe landing. Emergency services were on standby when the plane landed.
Passengers were provided accommodations and flew out the next day, although there was no Thomas Cook affiliate there, and they were not kept informed of their situation.
Andes Lineas Aereas flight OY-855 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Tucuman Airport, Argentina, on March 7th.
The plane heading from San Salvador de Jujuy to Buenos Aires, Argentina, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and forty-four people aboard remained unharmed.
The CSeries by Bombardier will be undergoing high-speed taxi tests on its new CSeries aircraft next week, after this weeks tests were foiled by dastardly weather.
After high speed taxi testing will come stabilization tests on landing gear and vibration tests.
The tests are being performed in Montreal outside on a dry runway at Bombardier’s facility in Mirabel, Que., on the first CSeries flight test vehicle.
Weather permitting, tests will be performed next week.
