    Beechcraft Bonanza Crashes and Burns in Pennsylvania House

    What: TSI Titanium (1982) Beechcraft 58 Baron en route from Arnold Palmer Regional Airport
    Where: Bell Township Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania
    When: Aug 7 2010 9:19 am
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: The plane crashed nine minutes after take-off. Witnesses say it sounded like the engine cut out before it crashed. The pilot did not contact ATC and the cause is unknown, pending investigation.

    Edward Sobota, president and owner of TSI Titanium, was flying his new Beechcraft two engine plane, and working on getting certified in it, when it crashed into a Bell Township neighborhood. Ted Kokolis a pilot for Bayer, who was also on board and killed in the crash. Steve Yanko was sleeping on his couch in his family room and was not injured when the plane crashed and burned in his wife’s art studio at the opposite end of the house. His wife was not in the house at the time.

    Mexico: Helicopter Crash Kills Businessman and Pilots


    What: Eolo AgustaWestland AW109SP
    Where: Cerro Alpino, Mexico
    When: July 28, 2012, 23:40
    Who: 3 aboard, 3 fatalities
    Why: The businessman and son of Fidel Herrera left the town of Atlacomulco after a meal with the former governor of the State of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto and died in a chopper crash.

    Toluca Airport lost contact with the helicopter an hour prior to the accident.

    The pilot Miguel Angel Rodriguez Lopez, co-pilot Rodolfo Caballero and the passenger, Armando Hinojosa-Garcia, were killed in the town of Juquipilco when the Augusta 109 chopper they were in crashed close to the Jiquipilco-Temoaya road, in the State of Mexico, North of Mexico City.

    Search patrols located the wreckage early Sunday morning in a place known as “Hill of Alpine”

    A Civil Aeronautics investigation is underway.

    Small Plane Crashes in Cochise County; Pilot Killed

    A small plane crashed in Cochise County, Arizona, on October 19th.

    The single-engine plane went down near Interstate 10 and the Safford exit.

    The pilot, who is believed to be the only one aboard, was killed in the crash.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the incident.

    LAO Airlines Crash Update: Victims Named

    Sixteen Lao, seven French, six Australians, five Thais, three Koreans, three Vietnamese and one each from China, Malaysia, Taiwan and the United States died in the ATR-72 crash near Pakse Airport in the Mekong river.

    From Sidney, the Rhodes family was identified, 39-year-old Gavin, a tax consultant from western Sydney, his wife, Phoumalaysy, 35 and their two children, Jadesuda, three, and Manfred, 17 months, and Penangite Angelin Teh, 24, and her American husband

    Officially, with the Lao Airlines team, local and national authorities, French Aircraft manufacturer team, and Thai rescue team, 14 bodies have been found, and sixteen unidentified bodies.

    Chopper Pilot Dies Aswering Slave Lake Call

    What: Campbell Helicopters Ltd. Bell 212 Twin Two-Twelve
    Where: Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada
    When: May 20, 2011
    Who: 1 fatality
    Why: The chopper responding to a (wildfire) fire call crashed for unknown reasons 30 meters offshore Slave Lake, Alberta. The forest fire leveled a third of the Slave Lake community. The pilot’s name has not yet been released.

    The STARS Air Ambulance call was cancelled. The pilot died in the crash. Emergency responders were treated for hypothermia.

    Indian Air Force Plane Crash Lands at Chandigarh Airport

    Indian Air ForceAn Indian Air Force AN-32 transport plane crash landed at the Air Force station runway in Chandigarh, India, at around 8:30 p.m. on September 20.

    The aircraft developed some technical problem mid-air while returning from Bathinda and during landing it swerved off the runway, flipped over and caught fire.

    The aircraft had 11 people aboard, including 5 crew members. All of them were rescued however, some of them sustained minor injuries. The injured were taken to the command hospital, Chandimandir.

    The incident is being investigated by the Indian Air Force.
