    What: Korean Air Boeing 747-400 en route from Seoul to Dallas
    Where: Seattle
    When: Oct 16th 2010
    Why: While en route, the crew noticed the scent of something burning. The pilot diverted to Seattle where they made a safe landing. An inspection ensued, and the problem was found to be an electrical short. The plane was back in service within four hours.

    British Airways Jet Crash-Lands in South Africa; No injuries Reported

    British airwaysBritish Airways jet crash-landed at O. R. Tambo International Airport near Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 26.

    The Boeing 737-400 plane, operating as Comair flight BA6234, was flying from Port Elizabeth, Cape Town when its left landing gear collapsed upon landing.

    There were 94 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    An airline spokesperson confirmed the incident and said, “Comair and the relevant authorities will be conducting the necessary investigation over the coming days and weeks. As soon as more information is on hand we will be releasing it to the media.”

    Emergency Landing in Multan Pakistan

    What: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 737-300 en route from Islamabad to Karachi
    Where: Multan Pakistan
    When: Sep 27th 2011
    Who: 118 passengers
    Why: While en route, the one working generator failed. The captain announced to the passengers that they were having technical problems.

    The crew diverted to Multan and made a safe landing; the flight landed with subdued lighting. One main generator was completely non-operational.

    Passengers were rebooked on an alternative flight.

    Thai Lion Air Plane Diverts to Thailand due to Lost Cabin Pressure

    Thai Lion AirThai Lion Air flight SL-539 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Chiang Mai International Airport, Chiang Mai, Thailand, on April 10th.

    The Boeing 737-900, flying from Chiang Rai to Bangkok, Thailand, was mid-air when the crew reported loss of cabin pressure, prompting the plane to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    Two passengers onboard experienced dizziness, whereas the rest remained unharmed.

    Delta Air Lines roll back

    What: Delta Air Lines a Flight 18 BOEING 777-200ER, registration: N862DA
    Where: en route
    When: Wednesday, November 26, 2008
    Why: The plane experienced a rollback of the right (number 2) Rolls Royce Trent 895 engine during cruise flight at FL390 (approximately 39,000 feet). The flight was a regularly scheduled flight from Pudong Airport, Shanghai, China to Atlanta-Hartsfield International The plane descended, executed flight manual procedures and the engine recovered and continued to Atlanta

    Turkish Airlines Plane Diverts to Tunisia due to Fuel Pump Issue

    Turkish airlinesTurkish Airlines flight TK-679 diverted and made an emergency landing at Tunis–Carthage International Airport, Tunisia, on October 31.

    The Boeing 737-900, en-route from Istanbul, Turkey, to Yaounde, Cameroon, had to divert due to some issue with its fuel pump.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.
