Why: Steve Titsworth, a retired (30 year) firefighter was flying the Robinson R22 chopper belonging to Don Arsenault when the chopper began falling apart. The propellers split and flew into the river; the rotor fell into the trees; and the rest of the chopper crashed hit a tree about 300 feet south of the river. The wreckage caught fire and was engulfed.

Small Plane Crashes into Fort Lauderdale Autism Center; 2 Dead
A small plane crashed into a therapy center for autistic children in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on December 1st.
The Cessna 335 plane was carrying two people when it crashed through the roof of the building that had eight teachers and five children inside.
Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. One of the teachers inside the building suffered minor injuries.
The cause of crash is being investigated.
Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Backyard of Western New York Home
A small plane made an emergency landing in a field in Macedon, Wayne County, New York, on January 21.
Authorities said the pilot was forced to land the single-engine plane in the field behind a home after the ice clogged its carburetor and the engine began seizing up. The plane was heading from New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Rochester, New York, at the time.
The plane landed safely. Both people aboard, including the pilot Jeremiah Coholan and his passenger, Richard Medeiros, remained unhurt.
Motor Glider Plane Crash in Colorado; 2 Killed
A fixed-wing motor glider aircraft crashed at the Telluride Ski Area, Telluride, Colorado, on August 24th.
Two people including the pilot were killed in the crash.
The cause of the crash has not been reported yet.

Why: The helicopter made slow decent because of a cautionary light.
American Airlines Flight Returns to Chicago due to Cracked Windshield
American Airlines flight AA-153 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chicago, Illinois, on July 9th.
The Boeing 787-800 plane took off for Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, but had to turn back due to a cracked windshield.
The plane landed safely. All one hundred and sixty-four passengers and thirteen crew members remained unharmed.
