Why: Steve Titsworth, a retired (30 year) firefighter was flying the Robinson R22 chopper belonging to Don Arsenault when the chopper began falling apart. The propellers split and flew into the river; the rotor fell into the trees; and the rest of the chopper crashed hit a tree about 300 feet south of the river. The wreckage caught fire and was engulfed.

PAF Training Aircraft Crashed in Karachi; 4 Killed
A training aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed near an inter-city bus terminal in Yousuf Goth, Baldia Town, Karachi, at 12:05 p.m. on June 3, due to some unknown technical fault.The PAF officials confirmed that both the pilots, Wing Commander Khurram Sammad and Squadron Leader Umair Elahi, lost their lives in the crash.
Two civilians, identified as Ali Akbar and Sajid Riyasat, were also killed in the incident. Three others suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital, however, they were released after a few hours.
The bodies, which were in parts and had sustained severe burns, were shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for autopsies.
One of the witness Ali Ahmed said, “The aircraft was flying at a very low altitude before it crashed. It bounced off the roofs of several buses and broke through electricity poles.”
One bus was completely destroyed while four others got partially damaged. The engine of the aircraft is reported to have been on fire before it crashed. Fire fighters, however, reported in time and managed to control the fire before it could spread further.
PAF will provide adequate compensation for the loss of life and property and will fully cover medical expenses of the injured, as per its standard operational rules.
The Air Force Headquarters has formed a board to determine the cause of accident.

Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Former Alameda Naval Air Station
A small plane made an emergency landing at the former Alameda Naval Air Station in Alameda, California, on October 27th.
The Cessna 172 plane was flying from Oakland, California, when the pilot requested an emergency landing due to poor weather conditions.
The plane landed safely.
No injuries were reported.

American Airlines flight 1569 had to make an emergency landing at Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Texas, at 6:49 p.m. on February 17.According to the airline, the MD-80 aircraft was heading to McAllen when the crew sought permission for an emergency landing due to a “passenger medical emergency.”
The plane, carrying 132 passengers and 5 crew members, landed safely. The ill passenger was rushed to a local hospital.
Small Plane Crash Lands in Temple Bruer near Wellingmore, UK
A small aircraft crash landed on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. at Griffins Farm Lane in Temple Bruer, near Wellingore, Lincolnshire United Kingdom.The pilot had helped himself to get out of the plane before the Brant Broughton and Lincoln fire and rescue crews reached the site. He was then shifted to Lincoln County Hospital for checkup, although he did not appear to sustain any major injuries.
The fire fighters then disconnected the aircraft’s battery to make it safe.

Helicopter Crashes in Alaska; 1 Rescued, 3 Missing
A helicopter crashed near Lituya Bay, Alaska, on September 28th.
The helicopter was transporting four people from Grand Prairie, Texas, to Wasilla, Alaska, when it went down.
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 14-year-old survivor of the crash. Other occupants of the aircraft remain missing.
