    Philippine Airlines Jet Returns to Ninoy Aquino International Airport

    Philippine AirlinesPhilippine Airlines Express flight 2P 2021 had to return and make an emergency landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Philippines on September 8.

    The plane took off for Moises R. Espinosa Airport, Masbate but had to return shortly afterwards after a safety patrol unit spotted one of its tires on the runway.

    The plane landed safely. None of the 32 passengers reported any injuries.

    The passengers were accommodated in another flight.

    Delta Plane Returns to Georgia after Engine Failure due to Bird Strike

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2042 had to return and make an emergency landing at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Georgia, on March 11th.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-90 flying to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, had to return after one of its engines failed due to bird strike.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Flybe Plane Crash-Lands at Belfast International Airport; 1 Injured

    Flybe flight BE-331 crash-landed at Belfast International Airport, Northern Ireland, on November 10th.

    The plane was heading from George Best Belfast City Airport, Northern Ireland, to Inverness, Scotland, when the crew diverted to Belfast International Airport due to a gear problem.

    The plane landed without nose gear.

    One passenger was injured and was taken to a hospital.

    Where: McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas
    When: 2:22 p.m May 18, 2009
    Who: 130 passengers and 5 crew members
    Why: After reporting smoke in the cockpit, the crew diverted to the Las Vegas airport. There were no injuries. The replacement flight is not expected to arrive in Grand Junction until after 6 pm.

    Eagle Airways Beech Diverts to Gisborne


    What: Air New Zealand/Eagle Airways Beech 1900D from Gisborne to Auckland New Zealand
    Where: Gisborne
    When: May 8th 2011
    Who: 9 passengers
    Why: Ten minutes into the flight, while flying over Opotiki, the pilots shut down an engine because of readings they were getting; and they announced to passengers they were going to make an emergency landing.

    The pilots then returned to the airport. Everyone aboard clapped when the nineteen seat plane landed safely.

    The engine of the Eagle Airways Beech was examined and no problems were found.

    Pegasus Airlines Plane makes Safe Landing in Italy

    Pegasus AirlinesPegasus Airlines flight PC-423 made a safe emergency landing at Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, Italy, on September 4th.

    The Boeing 737-800 flying from Istanbul, Turkey, had just landed when one of its gears stopped working and its tyre bursted.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.
