    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Minneapolis

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1137 made an emergency landing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 27th.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, was diverted due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    SkyWest Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Milwaukee

    SkyWest Airlines flight OO-4668 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 28th.

    The plane heading from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Detroit, Michigan, was diverted due to the loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane, carrying thirty-eight passengers and three crew members, landed uneventfully. One female passenger complained of ear pain and was taken to a hospital.

    American Airlines Plane Diverts to Virginia due to Flaps Problem

    American EagleAmerican Airlines flight AA-2293 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Dulles, Virginia, on May 7th.

    The Boeing 737-800, en-route from Texas, to District of Columbia, was preparing to land at Ronald Reagan Airport when the crew reported problems with its flaps, prompting it to divert.

    The plane landed successfully.

    All people onboard remained unharmed.

    Iranian Crash Update: Black Boxes Found

    What: An Iranian Caspian Airlines Russian-made Tupolev passenger jet en route from Tehran (Iran) to Yerevan
    Where: near Jannatabad village 75 miles northwest of Tehran
    When: July 15 2009, crashed 11:30 am, 16 minutes after takeoff
    Who: 153 passengers and 15 crew including eight members of Iran’s youth judo team and two trainers. Another report said simply there were “over 150” aboard.
    Why: After the pilot complained of technical problems, witnesses reported that the plane caught on fire while still in the air, then smashed up when it hit the ground.
    Update:
    The Russian-made plane’s Russian-made black boxes have been found. They are badly burned; however, and may be sent to Russia for assistance in data recovery. There is already a Russian team on the way to help investigate. An Iranian Insurance company promises $58,000 to the families of victims.

    The 22-year-old TU-154M has not been produced since 1996. Most of the passengers were Iranian; seven were Armenians or Georgians. One Canadian woman and her son (Nana Antasyam and her son, Edward Khachik ) were reportedly also on board, as well as a pair of Australian siblings who may have had dual citizenship.

    British Airways Flight Diverts to Vancouver due to Medical Emergency; 25 Taken to Hospital

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA-286 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Vancouver, Canada, on October 24th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from San Francisco, California, to London, United Kingdom, was diverted due to a medical emergency.

    Authorities said the crew declared an emergency after several passengers and crew members reported feeling sick due to fumes on board.

    The plane, carrying 433 people aboard, landed safely. Twenty-five people, including 5 passengers and 20 crew members, were taken to hospitals.

    Small Plane Crashed in California Home; 2 Killed

    A small plane crashed into a home in 1600 block of Tionontati St. California town, Nevada-California border, on the night of October 10.

    The Beech 35 Bonanza crashed in the south of Lake Tahoe Airport, California, just after taking off.

    The 2 passengers aboard were killed while no injuries were reported in the home.

    The incident is under investigation.
