    Atlas Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Belgium

    Atlas Air flight LY-804 had to return and make an emergency landing in Liege, Belgium, on February 7th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Tel Aviv, Israel, but had to return shortly afterwards due to indication of an engine compressor stall.

    The plane landed safely. All 6 crew members aboard remained unharmed.

    Pilot Killed as Crop-Dusting Helicopter Crashed in California

    A crop dusting helicopter, owned by Gomes Farm Air Service, crashed in a field near Salinas in California, at around 9 a.m. on June 20.

    FAA spokesperson Allen Kenitzer confirmed that the pilot of Bell 47-G5 helicopter was killed in the crash. He was identified as the co- owner of Gomes Farm Air Service, Frank Gomes Jr.

    The cause of incident is being investigated by the FAA.

    CityJet Flight Returns to Dublin due to Low Oil Pressure Indication

    CityJetCityJet flight WX-112 had to return and make an emergency landing in Dublin, Ireland, on May 20th.

    The plane took off for London, England, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to a low oil pressure indication.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    What: six passenger, twin-engine Cape Air Cessna 402 Flight 105 en route to Boston’s Logan International Airport took off from Runway 33 on its way to pick up passengers at Logan.
    Where: Crashed on land about 2 miles from Nip-N-Tuck Farm Martha’s Vineyard West Tisbury
    When: 8:05 p.m
    Who: Pilot David D. Willey (fatality)
    Why: During takeoff, there was heavy rain and high wind. The crash is under investigation

    Cape Air runs a fleet of more than 50 Cessna 402s and carried more than 650,000 passengers last year

    Southwest Airlines Plane Rejects Take Off after Bird Strike

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines flight WN-364 had to reject take off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on October 21st.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane was accelerating to take off for Baltimore, Maryland, when the crew reported a bird strike and rejected take off.

    The plane safely returned to apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Delta Flight 5358 Lands in Emergency at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport

    DeltaDelta Airlines flight 5358 had to make an emergency landing at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA), at about 10:20 p.m. on June 12.

    Airport director Kelly Johnson confirmed that the flight, which departed for Atlanta at about 9:20 a.m., was forced to return and make an emergency landing, after which, the aircraft lost the directional steering of its nose wheel.

    He further said that all 50 passengers and 3 crew members aboard the plane were unharmed.

    After landing, the pilots learned that one of the tires was flat.
