    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at DFW Airport

    Delta Airlines flight DL-8889 had to return and make an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on May 23rd.

    The Boeing 757-200 plane took off for Newark, New Jersey, but had to turn back due to a cabin pressure problem.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Kananaskis Pilot Dies Waiting for Air Ambulance


    What: Kananaskis Heli Tours Bell 206B JetRanger II sightseeing tour from Stoney Nakoda Resort and Casino to Bow Valley
    Where: Canmore, Alberta
    When: March 30, 2012 10:30 a.m.
    Who: 1 fatality, 4 survivors
    Why: A sightseeing helicopter crashed near Grotto Mountain near Banff National Park, Canmore, killing pilot Matthew Goodine of Prince George, British Columbia. The crash occurred at 10:30 a.m. Canadian Forces Base Trenton heard the emergency beacon at 12:30 and notified the mounties. EMS did not arrive until 2:45 and the pilot died while waiting to be airlifted to a hospital in Calgary. Rescue efforts on the remote back country mountain slope were hampered by high winds and snow, along with the rugged terrain. Rescue personnel rappelled from the chopper, and the two couples from Britain were airlifted in slings to be flown to hospitals.

    It began to snow around 10:30 a.m., and that may have been a factor. Weather will delay the investigation as much as a week due to snowy forecasts. There is no black box.

    Training Helicopter Crashed in Lincoln County, Missouri

    Helicopter crashA two-seater training helicopter crashed along the runway of the Greensfield Airport located near Moscow Mills in the southern part of Lincoln County, Missouri, at about 11 a.m. on June 19.

    According to Fire Marshall Barry Nuss, an instructor and a student were aboard at the time of accident; both of them escaped with only minor injuries.

    The helicopter belonged to HeliSat helicopter flight training school, based in Moscow Mills.

    Missouri Highway Patrol is looking into the cause of accident.

    JetBlue Flight 111 Returns to Logan for Emergency Landing

    jetBlue JetBlue flight 111 heading to Chicago O’Hare International Airport had to return and make an emergency landing at Logan International Airport due to bird strike.

    The incident happened shortly after the plane took off. The pilots then turned back towards Logan where they made an uneventful emergency landing at about 8 a.m. on May 27.

    Massport Spokesman Matthew Brelis said that a bird has been ingested into the engine of the plane. An analysis of the remains of bird will determine its species.

    All the passengers were evacuated, and JetBlue offered them other flight options to Chicago.

    Small Plane Crashes Off Long Island Coast; 2 Dead, 2 Missing

    A small plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Amagansett, New York, on June 2nd.

    The incident happened when the Piper PA-31 Navajo plane was carrying four people, including the pilot Jon Dollard, 47, famed Hamptons home builder Ben Krupinski, 70, his wife, Bonnie Bistrian Krupinski, 70, and their grandson, Will Maerov, 22.

    As of June 3rd, only two bodies had been recovered. However, all four occupants of the plane are presumed dead.

    Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Hillsborough Township after Wing Damage

    emergencyA 1993 Mooney M20M aircraft made a controlled emergency landing at Central Jersey Regional Airport, Hillsborough Township, New Jersey, on September 19.

    The Pennsylvania-bound plane was taking off from the airport when its left wing touched a chain link fence adjacent to the runway, causing damage and forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely. The pilot Ross Cole and his passenger Pamela Cole remained uninjured.

    The incident is being investigated.
