    American Engine Emergency Landing in Lubbock

    What: American Airlines Boeing 757 en route from Dallas to Los Angeles
    Where: Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport
    When: Dec 4, 2011, 10:00 a m
    Who: 175 aboard
    Why: The flight was en route when it developed problems with one of its engines. Apparently it ingested something in one of its right engines (or “encountered an unknown obstacle”) disabling the right engine.

    The pilots made a safe landing in Lubbock. We assume alternative arrangements were provided for the stranded passengers.

    LOT Polish Airlines Plane Returns to Illinois due to Engine Oil Leakage

    LOT Polish Airlines flight LO-4 had to return and make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois, on May 10th.

    The Boeing 787-800 flying yo Warsaw, Poland, had to return due to engine oil leakage.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    Vensecar Airline’s Cargo Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Trinidad

    Vensecar AirlineA Vensecar Airline’s cargo plane had to return and make an emergency landing in Trinidad at about 8:45 p.m. on May 26, due to hydraulic problems.

    The decision for emergency landing was made shortly after the Boeing 727 cargo aircraft took off from Piarco International Airport and was on its way to Venezuela.

    According to the officials, the pilot declared full emergency at about 8:26 p.m. after he discovered trouble with the plane’s hydraulic system. The Venezuelan-registered plane was then turned back towards Piarco International Airport where it made an uneventful emergency landing.

    Full emergency protocol was deployed at the airport with all the supporting agencies on stand-by.

    The aircraft is being examined by the CAA and the Vensecar Airline crews.

    What: Austrian Airllines Boeing-737-800 en route from Vienna to Sofia Bulgaria
    Where: emergency landing at Vienna airport
    When: 06. 03. 09.
    Who: 72 passengers
    Why: After the crew of AUA flight OS 797 found smoke filling the cabin, the plane made an emergency landing–shortly after take-off. It was a really short flight. THey took off at 1:47 pm and landed at 1:52pm. Economy Minister Nina Radeva was among those on board.

    Comair Flight Returns to Johannesburg After Bird Strike

    Comair flight MN-233 had to return and make an emergency landing in Johannesburg, South Africa, on February 8th.

    The Boeing 737-400 plane took off for Port Elizabeth, South Africa, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Washington Dulles International Airport

    United Airlines flight UA-1068 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on February 18th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from Newark, New Jersey, to Bogota, Colombia, was diverted after both autopilots failed.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
