    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Syracuse

    American Airlines flight AA-5377 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Syracuse, New York, on September 11th.

    The plane heading from Hartford, Connecticut, to Chicago, Illinois, was diverted due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Military Jet Crashes, Pilot Ejects


    An Indian Air Force MiG-29 was engaged in training maneuvers when the pilot ejected near Jamnagar in Gujarat, and the plane crashed. The wreckage is between Amran and Jivapar villages which are close to Jamangar airbase,

    During the training flight, the plane developed a “technical snag.”

    A court of inquiry is underway.

    Japanese Coast Guard Helicopter Lost at Sea

    What: Japanese Coast Guard Bell 412EP “Akizuru”
    Where: off Kagawa, Shikoku Japan
    When: August 8 2010
    Who: 5 occupants 4 fatalities
    Why: Akizuru hit offshore power lines and crashed into the sea. The five member crew was missing; but the remains of 4 were found by searchers. One is still missing.

    Kolb Crash in Ozarks


    What: KOLB MARK III Fixed Wing Single-Engine (experimental class) registered to registered to Tate Isaac
    Where: Ozark Arkansas near Batson Mountain
    When: Date: 01/07/2009
    Who: Pilot was the only one aboard. No injuries.
    Why: On takeoff, the plane stalled and crashed. (Alternately this is being described as a hard landing.)

    Three Soldiers and Two Civilians Die in Colombian Helicopter Accident

    On JAN 9 2014, a Sociedad Aeronáutica de Santander (SASA) Bell 206L-3 LongRanger
    # HK-4462 en route from Puerto Berrío to Anori was north of Anori, Colombia when it suffered controlled flight into terrain, striking a mountain. No one aboard survived the impact. Three soldiers and two civilians died on the 9th when the helicopter went missing.

    The Seventh Division of the National Army had made a public statement that the aircraft, affiliated with the Aeronautical Society of Santander was “transporting a priest and military personnel assigned to the Fourteenth Brigade”.

    The helicopter crew failed to check in on Thursday afternoon and was located on Friday in rural Anori. Fatalities were two soldiers, one police, one military priest and the pilot.

    Director of the Department of Care andPrevention of Disasters César Hernández confirmed the fatalities.
