    Small Plane Crashes in Berks County Cornfield

    A small plane crashed into a cornfield in Washington Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, on September 21.

    The plane ended up in an upside down position near 1600 block of Route 100. According to a witness Tyler Moyer, “We heard the engine stall, and then it started back up… The farmer was still picking the corn. The farmer didn’t even notice it, and the dust was flying everywhere from the tractors and stuff,”

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was injured and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the cause of crash.

    Delta Airlines Flight Rejects Takeoff From JFK Airport

    Delta Airlines flight DL-420 had to reject takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on October 1st.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane was accelerating to takeoff for Accra, Ghana, when the crew reported disagreeing airspeeds and rejected takeoff.

    Fire broke out in the right main gear as the plane was taxiing to the gate. Emergency services responded and put out the fire.

    All two hundred and fifty people aboard remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Rejects Take Off from Portland Airport

    southwest_airlines_logoSouthwest Airlines flight WN-2123 had to reject take off from Portland International Airport, Oregon, on October 11th.

    The plane was accelerating to take off for Kansas City, Missouri, when the crew rejected take off due to a bird strike.

    The plane safely returned to the apron.

    According to the FAA, the bird strike caused substantial damage to one of the engines.

    Bird-Hit Southwest Airlines Flight Returns to Los Angeles

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-3356 had to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles, California, on January 8th.

    The plane took off for San Francisco, California, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a bird strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Plane Carrying MSU Basketball Team Makes Emergency Landing in St. Louis

    A chartered plane, carrying Mississippi State men’s basketball team, made an emergency landing in St. Louis, Missouri, on the night of February 14.

    The incident happened when the team was returning to Starkville after defeating the Missouri Tigers in Columbia, Missouri.

    According to Mississippi State sports information director Gregg Ellis, the plane had to land in emergency after its right engine failed.

    The plane landed uneventfully and no one was harmed.
