The plane, performing flight EQ-173 from Quito, Ecuador, landed amid heavy rain and slided off the tarmac onto the grass.
There were 87 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; none of them were injured.
The aircraft was substantially damaged.
Jet Airways flight 2828 made an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, India, on April 27th.
Authorities said the plane, flying from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, had reached its scheduled destination in New Delhi on time but the ATC advised the pilots to divert to Lucknow due to poor weather conditions. Shortly before reaching the airport in Lucknow, the pilots received low fuel indication and declared an emergency.

American Airlines flight 3358 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, Little Rock, Arkansas, on March 30th.
The aircraft was heading from Dallas, Texas to Memphis, Tennessee, when it encountered bad weather, resulting in extreme turbulence inside the plane, prompting it to divert.

Two unidentified bodies were recovered from a large debris field a mile long and a quarter mile wide. Snow and fog have been hampering recovery efforts. The names of the victims will be confirmed before they are released. FAA spokesman Allen Kenitze said the Cessna 525 “crashed under unknown circumstances.”
Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS-34 from Lviv to Kiev Borispol diverted to Kiev’s Zhuliany Airport due to weather. Pilots overran the end of the runway by about 100 meters. No injuries were reported.

Seatbelt signs were illuminated—a sign in flight that it is safer to be seated and belted in—when an American Airlines 737-800 en route from New York to Miami encountered a passing storm system that caused turbulence severe enough to send 5 passengers and a flight attendant to the hospital. Pilots did not divert, but continued the flight to make a safe landing in Miami. Turbulence occurred forty minutes before landing. One flight attendant suffered a broken nose. 159 passengers were aboard the flight.
A Venezuela National Guard helicopter crashed onto a parking lot in Paraguachon, La Guajira, Colombia, on December 28.
Delcy Rodriguez, Venezuela’s top diplomat, said, “Adverse weather conditions led to this unfortunate accident. We thank Colombian authorities who provided support to the officers.”
There were two people aboard the Bell helicopter at the time; including the pilot and the co-pilot. Both of them were injured in the crash. They were taken to hospitals in Venezuela.
Colombia’s Defense Minister Luis Carlos Villegas said, “”We will proceed through diplomatic channels with the government of Venezuela to establish where the wreckage will be sent.”
A cargo plane plowed into a residential area in Mbuji-Mayi, Democratic Republic of Congo, on December 24.
Authorities said the Airbus 310 plane, operated by the cargo company Services Air, overshot the runway due to rainy weather and near-zero visibility before hitting several houses.
At least seven people on the ground were killed in the accident. The plane was carrying four crew members at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

All Nippon Airways flight NH-823 made an emergency landing in Okinawa, Japan, on December 18.
Authorities said the Boeing 767-300, en-route from Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan, to Taipei, Taiwan, was forced to divert after the crew reported haze in the cockpit.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 198 people on board remained safe.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

An Air France flight, operated by Cityjet, had to divert and make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport, United Kingdom, on December 4.
Authorities said the plane, en-route from Paris, France, to Dublin, Ireland, was diverted due to Storm Desmond.

According to the Slovak Interior Minister Robert Kalinak, pilot of the Russian-made Mi2 “was doing dangerous manoeuvrs especially in very bad weather conditions because he was flying very low.”
Six people lost their lives in the crash.

Royal Jordanian Airlines flight RJA611 had to make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion International airport in Israel, on November 3.
According to the airline, the Airbus A320 was en-route from Dubai to Amman, Jordan when it was diverted due to poor weather conditions.

Authorities said the plane resumed its journey shortly afterwards after refueling.
An Air Arabia flight made an emergency landing at Coimbatore International Airport in Tamil Nadu, India, on October 9.
Authorities said the plane, en-route from Sharjah, UAE to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, was diverted due to bad weather conditions in Thiruvananthapuram.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 168 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
The plane was able to continue its journey after some time.
Qantas QF51 made an emergency landing at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 29.
The plane, heading from Brisbane, Australia, to Singapore, was diverted after the pilot reported low visibility due to haze. General manager of Jakarta’s Air Traffic Service Centre, Bambang Rianto, said the pilot reported that visibility was below the safety threshold limit of 1400 meters.

A helicopter carrying Uttarakhand Forest Minister Dinesh Agarwal had to make an emergency landing in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, India, on September 13.
Authorities said the chopper was forced to land in the Glocal University campus due to bad weather. Mr. Agarwal was en-route to Dehradun at the time.

A twin-engine Aerostar aircraft crashed into Alto de la Clarita Mountains in Medellin, Colombia, on September 11.
Authorities believe the aircraft, that was being used in shooting of Tom Cruise’s upcoming movie Mena, crashed due to bad weather.
Two people were killed in the accident, including a Colombian native, Carlos Berl and a Los Angeles film pilot, Alan David Purwin. Another American pilot, Jimmy Lee Garland, sustained severe injuries and was taken to hospital.
Universal Pictures said in a statement, “On behalf of the production, our hearts and prayers go out to the crew members and their families at this difficult time.”
Alitalia flight AZ2016 made an emergency landing at Naples International Airport in Italy, on August 19th.
According to the airline, “Alitalia flight AZ2016 from Rome to Milan Linate, scheduled on 8.00 am this morning, went through an extraordinary and violent hailstorm soon after taking off from Fiumicino airport… Therefore, the pilots decided to head to Naples airport.”
The plane landed safely and all 110 passengers remained uninjured.
The aircraft sustained serious damage due to the storm.
The airline accommodated the passengers in other flights.
A Pakistan Army Aviation’s MI-17 helicopter crashed near Lasan Nawab, Mansehra, Pakistan, on August 6.
The helicopter crashed during its flight from Rawalpindi to Gilgit. Authorities said the accident happened due to bad weather.
At least 12 men from Pakistan armed forces were killed in the crash.
The deceased were identified as Major Muzammil, Major Humayun, Major Shahzad, Major Usman, Major Atif, Havaldar Munir Abbasi, Amanullah, Naik OT Maqbool, Naik Amir Saeed, Sepoy Waqar and Sepoy Rehmat-ullah.
American Airlines flight AA-88 had to return and make an emergency landing in Beijing, China, on the morning of July 27.
The Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner, heading towards Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, had to return after it sustained damage by a hailstorm.
The plane landed uneventfully.
