    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight UA77 had to make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport, Northern Ireland, at around 8:30 a.m. on September 6.

    The Boeing 757-200, heading towards Belfast, from Newark, New Jersey, had to be landed in emergency due to a sick passenger aboard.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    No injuries were reported.

    The flight, heading from Washington Dulles International Airport to Zurich, Switzerland, was diverted as a precaution after 4 crew members reported breathing problems.

    The plane landed safely and was thoroughly inspected. Authorities said the sick flight attendants did not need medical attention after landing.

    United Airlines flight UA-935 had to return and make an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, London, at around 12:33 P.M. on August 7th.

    The Boeing 777-200 had to return after the pilot noticed sparks and smoke in cabin due to an electrical issue.

    The plane was heading towards Los Angeles International Airport, California, at the time.

    The aircraft landed uneventfully. All 265 passengers and 14 crew members aboard remained safe.

    Transportation Department Investigating Airlines for Alleged Price Gouging after Amtrak Crash

    US Transportation Department has started an investigation into possible overcharging by airlines following May 2015 Amtrak train crash in Philadelphia.

    The New York-Washington Amtrak rail service was suspended after a derailment that took 11 lives and injured 200 people.

    The department has sent letters to JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and United Continental Holdings, asking for their average fares before, during and after the accident. According to transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, “These airlines have allegedly raised fees beyond what you would ordinarily be expected in the Northeast Corridor at a time when the Amtrak line was shut down.”

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight UA-641 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Kona International Airport, Kona, Hawaii, at around 10:40 A.M. on July 23.

    The Boeing 777-200, en-route from Los Angeles, California, to Honolulu, Hawaii, had to be landed in emergency due to an issue with one of its engines.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 359 people aboard remained unhurt.

    The Airbus A320, en-route from Denver, Colorado, to Los Angeles, California, had to be landed in emergency after several passengers started feeling ill.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “After receiving reports of multiple ill customers, our crew deployed the oxygen masks and elected to divert to Grand Junction… Our maintenance team will inspect the aircraft to determine if there were any technical issues.”

    There were 150 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; authorities said 1 passengers was taken to hospital.

    United Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Michigan

    United AirlinesUnited Airlines flight 2910 made an emergency landing at Gerald R. Ford International Airport, Michigan, at around 2:15 A.M. on July 8.

    The Embraer 145 regional jet was on its way from Denver, Colorado to Traverse City in Michigan, when it had to declare emergency after experiencing trouble with its wing flaps.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 46 passengers on board remained unhurt.

    United Airlines Flight Diverts to Belfast After Passenger Demanded More Nuts

    United airlinesA United Airlines flight had to divert to Belfast International Airport in Northern Ireland, on the evening of June 20.

    The plane was on its way from Rome, Italy to Chicago when a 42-year-old passenger Jeremiah Mathis Thede asked for nuts or crackers. Authorities said he was given some nuts but he kept-on demanding for more and showed an erratic behavior. The pilot became concerned due to situation and decided to make an emergency landing.

    The plane landed safely and all 282 passengers were flown to Chicago next day.

    United Airlines Flight Makes a U-Turn due to Possible Terror Threat

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 1074 had to return for an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on March 16.

    The flight, en-route from Washington Dulles International Airport to Denver International Airport, had to make a U-turn, after a passenger approached the cockpit yelling “jihad, jihad”. One of the pilots then contacted the airport authorities saying, “He ran forward towards the cockpit, and he is being restrained by passengers… Cockpit is secure, and we would like to return to the airport and have the authorities meet him.”

    The plane, carrying 33 passengers and 6 crew members, landed uneventfully. No one was harmed.

    According to a Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokesperson, “A passenger was removed from the plane and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.”

    The airline said the passengers were transported to their destination on March 17.

    Authorities said the unscheduled landing was prompted by a medical emergency. Reportedly, a female passenger became sick midair.

    The plane, carrying over 150 passengers, landed at around 3:30 a.m. The sick passenger was rushed to a hospital.

    The airline arranged an alternate aircraft for the passengers.

    United Flight Returns to O’Hare due to Issues with Cabin Pressure

    United airlinesUnited Airlines Flight 1218 had to return and make an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport,  Chicago, Illinois, on February 3.

    The plane departed for Denver at 9:01 a.m. but had to return shortly afterwards due to issues with cabin pressure.

    The Boeing 737-900 landed safely and medics checked 175 people complaining of nausea and ear pain. Authorities confirmed that none of the passengers or crew members was taken to hospital.

    An airline spokesperson said, “Maintenance is inspecting the aircraft as we accommodate the customers.”

    The FAA is investigating.

    The Boeing 757 landed uneventfully. There were 199 passengers and 7 crew members on-board at the time; all of them remained safe.

    The airline said, “Maintenance team is reviewing the aircraft, and we’re working as quickly as possible to get our customers to Washington, D.C.”

    The Boeing 767-300 landed back uneventfully. All 84 passengers and 13 crew members remained unharmed.

    Airline spokesperson Rahsaan Johnson said, ‘We cancelled the flight so our maintenance team could service the aircraft, and we provided customers alternate flights to their destinations.’

    The Airbus A319, travelling from Denver, Colorado, declared emergency due to a suspected mechanical problem.
