South Korean plane crash report says bird remains were found in engines, but no cause yet revealed
The first report on last month’s Jeju Air crash in South Korea confirmed traces of bird strikes in the plane’s engines, though officials haven’t determined the cause of the accident that killed all but two of the 181 people on board. The preliminary accident report released by South Korea’s Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board on Monday said that feathers and bird blood stains were found in both engines. The Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runaway at Muan International Airport on Dec. 29 after its landing gear failed to deploy, slamming into a concrete structure and bursting into flames.

A flight from Houston to New York had to be evacuated after it caught fire during take off, according to people on board.
South Korea to compile transcript of voice recording from crashed plane on Saturday
Investigators on Saturday expect to compile the complete transcript from the cockpit voice recorder recovered from the wreckage of the Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 that crashed on Sunday in South Korea, the transport ministry said in a statement.
National Aviation Merger Critiqued
State-run Air India and Indian Airlines merger into National Aviation Company Ltd. has been criticized for being “done without proper homework,” “an unfortunate situation,” and “a stumbling block.”The differences of aircraft resources are perceived as a stumbling block, and is wasteful of the synergies of both Air India and Indian Airlines.
