Royal Jordanian Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing in Israel

Royal Jordanian AirlinesRoyal Jordanian Airlines flight RJA611 had to make an emergency landing at Ben Gurion International airport in Israel, on November 3.

According to the airline, the Airbus A320 was en-route from Dubai to Amman, Jordan when it was diverted due to poor weather conditions.

The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

Authorities said the plane resumed its journey shortly afterwards after refueling.

British Airways Jet Crash-Lands in South Africa; No injuries Reported

British airwaysBritish Airways jet crash-landed at O. R. Tambo International Airport near Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 26.

The Boeing 737-400 plane, operating as Comair flight BA6234, was flying from Port Elizabeth, Cape Town when its left landing gear collapsed upon landing.

There were 94 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

An airline spokesperson confirmed the incident and said, “Comair and the relevant authorities will be conducting the necessary investigation over the coming days and weeks. As soon as more information is on hand we will be releasing it to the media.”

Thomson Airways Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Cardiff Airport

Thomson airwaysThomson Airways flight TOM6555 had to make an emergency landing at Cardiff Airport, United Kingdom, on September 19.

The plane was preparing to land at the airport when its landing flaps failed, prompting the pilot to declare an emergency. The flight was en-route from Tenerife, Spain at the time.

The plane landed uneventfully. There were around 200 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

An airline spokesperson said, “The safety of our customers and crew is of paramount importance and we would like to reassure customers that this type of situation is extremely rare.”

Cape Air Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Bradley International Airport

cape airA Cape Air jet had to make an emergency landing at Bradley International Airport, Connecticut, on September 16.

The ten-seater Cessna 402 plane was heading to White Plains, New York from Lebanon, New Hampshire when it experienced an engine problem, forcing the pilots to declare an emergency.

The plane landed safely.

No injuries were reported.

Medical Evacuation Plane Disappears West of Senegal

Senegal AirlinesA medical evacuation jet disappeared west of Dakar, Senegal, on September 5.

The private Senegalair aircraft was en-route from Burkina Faso to Dakar when it disappeared from the radar.

There were 7 people aboard at the time including a French patient, a doctor, 2 nurses and 3 crew members.

The aircraft was chartered by SOS Medicin Senegal.

7 Dead, Over 14 Injured as Plane Crashes during Shoreham Airshow

planeA Cold War-era Hawker Hunter jet crashed during Shoreham Airshow at Shoreham Airport in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, United Kingdom, on August 22.

The plane was flying a loop when it went down, hitting several vehicles on A27.

At least 7 people were killed in the crash.

The pilot sustained serious injuries and was flown to Royal Sussex County Hospital. At least 13 others were also injured.

The event was cancelled due to the crash.

US Airways Jet Hits Runway Lights in Charlotte; No Injuries

US AirwaysA US Airways jet, performing flight 1851, hit runway lights while trying to land in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 15.

Authorities said the Airbus A321 was coming from Atlanta, Georgia, when the pilot reported wind shear. The plane then hit the runway lights while trying to land, damaging the underside of its tail.

There were 153 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

The U.S. accident investigators have launched an inquiry into the incident.

Turkish Airlines Jet Makes Emergency Landing due to Bomb Threat

Turkish airlinesA Turkish Airlines Jet made an emergency landing at Istanbul Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, on August 13th.

Emergency was declared after authorities received a phone call that claimed there was a bomb in the plane. The flight was flying from Oslo, Norway to Istanbul, Turkey at the time.

The plane landed safely and everyone aboard remained unharmed.

Authorities confirmed that no explosive device was found on inspection.

Ryanair Jet Diverted to Dublin Airport After Passenger Fell Sick Mid-Air

RyanairRyanair flight FR-8422 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Ireland, on August 14th.

The plane was en-route from Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, to Edinburgh, United Kingdom, when a female elderly passenger fell ill, prompting the crew to declare an emergency.

The plane landed uneventfully and the patient was immediately shifted to hospital.

The plane departed again after a short delay.

Thai Air Force Training Jet Crash Lands in Nakhon Ratchaima

606192A Thai Air force training jet skidded along the runway, during an attack exercise in the Wing 1 Royal Thai Air Force Base located in Nakhon Ratchaima, Thailand.

According to air force spokesperson, two L39 training jets were involved in a land attack exercise on Friday March 14, 2014, as part of Thailand, Singapore and the US Cope Tigher 2014 joint exercise activities. One jet, when returned to make an emergency landing, slid off the runway.

Both crew members remained uninjured.
