    Air CanadaAir Canada flight AC825 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Belfast International Airport in the United Kingdom, on August 22.

    The Boeing 767-300, en-route from Amsterdam to Toronto, was diverted after an unusual odor was noticed in the galley.

    The plane landed safely. There were 208 passengers and 8 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

    The plane was taken for inspection.

    The Boeing 777-200 was heading from Istanbul to Singapore when several storks hit it, forcing the pilot to declare emergency.

    The plane landed safely and all 255 passengers and 14 crew members remained unharmed.

    The plane was taken for repair while the airline arranged a replacement aircraft for the passengers.

    The Boeing 737, that took off for Bucharest, Romania, had to return after the pilot reported a suspected bird-hit just 20 minutes into the flight.

    The plane landed safely and burning off excess fuel. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    After inspection, the plane was cleared to take off again.

    Arkefly Flight Diverts to Ottawa International Airport

    The pilots declared medical emergency after a female elderly passenger died on-board. The Amsterdam-bound B787 Dreamliner had just taken off from Toronto Pearson International Airport at the time.

    The plane safely landed in Ottawa.

    According to public information officer for Ottawa Paramedic Service J.P. Trottier, “The person had no vital signs on board… There were some doctors on board and CPR was started. Upon landing, paramedics took over with other treatments, but she was declared deceased.”

    The Boeing 747-800 jumbo jet, en-route from Frankfurt to New York, had to be diverted after the pilots reported a possible wheel well fire.

    The plane landed safely after dumping excess fuel.

    An airport spokesperson confirmed the incident saying, “An aircraft from Frankfurt to New York JFK made a divert into Manchester Airport this evening and landed safely with approximately 360 people on board.”

    The Boeing 777-200 had to return after the pilot noticed sparks and smoke in cabin due to an electrical issue.

    The plane was heading towards Los Angeles International Airport, California, at the time.

    The aircraft landed uneventfully. All 265 passengers and 14 crew members aboard remained safe.

    The Boeing Dreamliner, heading from Guangzhou, China, to Heathrow Airport, London, had to be diverted after it ran out of fuel mid-air.

    The plane, with a capacity of boarding 335 passengers, landed uneventfully.

    No injuries were reported.

    The plane landed safely and all 332 people aboard remained unhurt.

    The journey continued after security clearance.

    It is believed that the Boeing MD-80, en-route from Las Vegas was scheduled to land at the airport 12 minutes before it was closed, however, the flight’s take off was delayed.

    The incident is being investigated.

    MH17 Memorial Service in Kuala Lumpur

    The national memorial service remembering MH17 was held in Kuala Lumpur, Saturday July 11. Families gathered, kin of the 298 victims of the MH17 Malaysian Airlines flight tragedy of July 17 last year. Everyone aboard was killed.

    The Bunga Raya Complex of the International Airport hosted the memorial gathering. Officials including Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib bin Abdul Razak attended.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Palm Beach International Airport

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-2271 made an emergency landing at Palm Beach International Airport, Florida, on the afternoon of July 6.

    The Boeing 737-800, heading towards West Palm Beach in Florida, from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, had to be diverted due to a problem with one of its flaps.

    The Boeing 737 was heading towards John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, from Dominican Republic, when the pilots received warning of a possible mechanical issue in one of the engines and decided to land as a precaution.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 131 passengers and 6 crew members aboard remained safe and were accommodated in a replacement flight.

    The Boeing 747-400, en-route from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Atlanta, Georgia, declared emergency after an alarm sounded in the cockpit, warning about a possible fire in the cargo hold.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 392 passengers remained safe.

    Inspection team found no evidence of fire in the cargo hold. The cause of alarm is under investigation.

    #Malaysia Airlines Confidential report of MH17 handed over to Australians in June

    Details from the confidential MH17 report that was handed over to Australian experts on June 2nd have not been revealed. The report questions if the flight path should have routed the passenger jet over a known war zone. The report is based on conclusions drawn by experts from Australia, Malaysia, the Ukraine, the US, Russia, the UK and the Netherlands, but those conclusions have not been revealed to the public. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which had experts on the committee, has not made a public statement. The final report is expected in October 2015.
